Russia is finishing up a large nuclear power plant for Iran (two more are about to be started, and Iran has some smaller reactors). It is set to go operational in 2010. Iran needs fuel for it. Every barrel of oil Iran burns for electricity costs them as much money as they could have sold that oil for on the world market. Iran also faces the prospect of diminishing oil reserves.

Out of security concerns, Iran wants to furnish the fuel themselves. If the US were honest in its dealing with Iran, the US would offer Iran a stockpile of fuel, maintained at a level to always be enough for at least five years in exchange for Iran not enriching uranium. The large stockpile would protect Iran from sanctions, should the US ever want to cripple Iran by cutting off the fuel.

It takes thousands of high-tech centrifuges and hundreds of people to refine uranium. There is no way Iran could hide such a facility from free-moving UN inspectors (An IAEA spokesman has pointed out, "We have not been denied access at any time" in response to claims to the contrary). Iran's enriched uranium is carefully monitored by the UN. The world uranium trade is also closely monitored. Companies that have the ability to create the necessary hardware are also carefully monitored.

Iran is in 100% compliance with UN rules that most countries of the world follow. Iran is completely within their legal rights agreed to in the nuclear non-proliferation treaty that Iran and the US both signed.

Iran has no nuclear weapons program and has no capacity to build nuclear weapons any time soon even if they wanted to.

I think those interesting facts in the OP could quite easily be linked to the end times. There does appear to be a lessening of America's sympathy for Israel at the present time. It is interesting that the Israeli safety was removed from the weapon. Politics is certainly involved in these things but where Israel is concerned there is always a religious implication.

That's pretty close to my opinion.

This was in the Washington Times at the beginning of January.
I dont live in the US but I think you would have your head in the sand if you dont think something is terribly wrong.

A decade of decline - Washington Times

Read the article and then look at Deut chapter 28 and Leviticus 26

"I also will even appoint over you terror....And I will set my face against you and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you...And I will break the pride of your power." Lev 26: 16-19.

When I travelled to US over 30 years ago it was all about "In God We Trust" Last year I heard some of the US politicians wanted to remove this. God makes it clear forsake Him and He turns His back on us.

Like you Robert I wouldnt want to offend anyone.

    Love and prayers

30 years ago, it would be fair to call America a Christian country. This is no longer the case. Our country has become hostile to Christianity and Christian values.

The article you link to is mostly right, but it is also sloppy. Much of what the author blames Obama for was done by Bush and McCain, including the $787 Billion "stimulus" (how could he forget McCain grandstanding by "suspending" his presidential campaign to get this bill to pass?). America's decline started long before 9/11. The writer of the article recognizes that the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have been a disaster. He rightly criticizes Obama's escalation of the Afghanistan war. But, he says the US should have responded to 9/11 with "total war". If America did that, we would be in a lot worse shape than we are in now - and deservedly so.
