This is illegal in the UK.
Very often, a couple (for example, on religious or cultural grounds) will request the sex of their baby.
Couples are generally not informed of the gender until after the abortion timeline has been exceeded.

Couples will be informed of any serious anomaly or defect in the foetus beforehand in order for them to make the considered opinion of whether to carry the pregnancy to term, and whether they feel they could cope with a severly handicapped child. ( I don't agree with this premise either, by the way....)
I find the Swedish ruling abominable, and a contravention of the baby's Human Rights.
It's frankly, barbaric.
