JIP, AK-47's are very good and reliable guns. If there was not a social stigma surrounding them here, I bet every law enforcement agency would use them.

No, thank the Lord. Had some close calls though. Was on a SWAT call once where a guy shot rounds into the first team member's shield...that one was close.
