Sorry for digging up an older thread, but I find this interesting. I was a practicing pagan (witch) for sixteen years, and during that time I did a lot of things that I now regret due to my change of faith.

I have direct experience with the appearance of a "ghost" being evil. Our former neighbor was having "haunting" activity in her house. Both my husband and I (before I was even a Christian) told her to be careful, that the "spirit" appeared to wish to do her harm. Her response was "bring it on!"

Well, the demon brought it on. The last time we actually spoke to her, her face was broken out in horrible sores and she looked rather like Pennywise the Clown (no, seriously). Subsequently she began a campaign to destroy our lives, because I refused to allow her to have contact with Dinky due to the amount of alcohol she drank and her abusive behavior towards me (and reportedly towards the baby as well). Not going into details, but our daughter was almost taken from us by the state due to false accusations by this woman.

The fact is that we don't really know one way or the other what these "apparitions" are. They could be hallucinations caused by the devil or his minions, or they could be demons themselves. The best thing to do is to stay away from it. And again, I know from personal experience.
