Default Do we have to Repent to be saved ?

Hi to all , and I see where Israel is called to repentance in :

    #1 , Matt 3:2 .

    #2 , Acts 2:38 .

#3 , But in Acts 19:4 , Repentance is tied into Water Baptism !

#4 , It was John Baptism , and , so when did John Baptism end ?

#5 , It looks like this Repentance has to do WITH Israel only, why ?

#6 , Because we are saved , NOT by Water , but by Grace !

#7 , That means that Repentance had ONLY Israel in mind and not Gentiles whatsoever .

It depends what you mean by "repent"

If we have to change our minds ,then yes we have to repent , but we can only truly repent following second birth as a new creature in Christ ,and being taught by the Holy Ghost ,but this is for another thread maybe

If we have to ;and here i regret i must use what repent usually is associated with and that is "repent of my sins" ; then that is a no ,because as a born first Adam ,I cannot .

    1 Thessalonians 1:9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;

Belief and repentance are the same thing. You can't believe in God without turning from something.

Agreed Chuckt, I did not want to comment on the truism that you have to repent about God from where you are prior to believing on Christ as your Lord and savior

I get it all from a Dispensational point of view and USE 2 Tim 2:15 and Phil 1:10 , where the Greek word for " excellant " really means " to approve the things that are DIFFERING ". I do know that Onesiphous , knows and easily see what I mean .

jesus tells us to repent thats good enough for me.
he also says he comes for the sinners not the righteous.
some people have a lot of trouble with this.
as jesus says he who is sinless cast the first stone.

Hi to all , and HOW can a person who is dead in Trespasses and Sins respond to the Gospel , for 1 Cor 2:14 reads , ' For the natural man RECEIVETH not the thngs of the Spirit of God , for they are FOOLISHNESS unto him , Neither can he know them , because they are SPIRITUALLY DISCERNED .
