Be sure of what you beleive Are you sure, certain of what you believe ?
We should all be certain as to weather we really are Christ’s disciples
2 Cor 13:5 (KJV) Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
Do we ? Do we really examine ourselves in order to prove ourselves ? Just believing is not enough, for even the demons believe !
James 2:19 (KJV) Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble
Some will live out their lives believing that all is well and that they do the work of Christ, only to hear these awful words
Matt 7:23 (KJV) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
They thought they were safe ! They would have, and in fact did bet their life on the fact that they were safe, but they receive from our Lord this awful indictment ending with that awful judgement
Matt 7:21-23 (KJV)Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Are you sure ? Will you be safe in that day ? What Scriptures are you holding on to in order to prove yourseves ?
This is not a contest, just a nudge, in order that we may not perish !

Lampstand Senior Member I have been searching the scriptures, in the hope of a quick answere. I don,t think it will be quick. Nor will it be eisily digested by any. It wil probably be pounced upon, criticised, defamed and even outright denied as heresey ! But so was Christ !

Lampstand Senior Member No but when scripture accuses you, you can only do two things. Accept it and repent or turn on the one who told you so
