would it be true to say as humans advanced, there covenants advanced with them.?
also each covenant superseeds the last.?
so we are like babies being weened into adulthood.?
more responsibility etc.?
he fullfilled the law.
Cat, they are covenant " laws ". The law's purpose was to expose sin (old covenant). Jesus' purpose was to defeat sin (new covenant).
Jesus instituted the new covenant when he said in Luke 22:20,,,
Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.
The new covenant was sealed when Jesus was nailed to that cross, it was sealed with the blood of sacrafice.
The old covenant was a picture of what Jesus " would " do because the old covenant was inadequate to do what the new covenant could do, and that was to defeat sin.
Basically, sin had become more powerful than the law and it was enslaving the Jews.
Hebrews 8:8
" Because finding fault with them, He says: “Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah "
But that doesn't mean we have to totally ignore such things as the 10 commandments.
1 Timothy 1:8
" But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully "
The Ten Commandments are laws of huge moral value and they provide an important guide for living the right life with God and one another.
They weren't suddenly made obsolete by the new covenant, they were simply part of the old covenant which was transformed into the new covenant in Jesus Christ.
A believer (part of the new covenant)just has a new relationship to the law but in no way was Jesus changing the law. Jesus was explaining what the law in the new covenant would look like.

Never be overwhelmed by decisions, just consider the right ones and your options will be far fewer.
the whole idea of this thread was,do you think God gives us tiny steps to take.?ie increase in responsability.?
I understood that bit but this needed to be cleared up first,,,
It is God's covenant with us and even though there have been coventants bewteen individuals and God such as Abraham and Abimelech or David, they generally come under the heading of the old and the new and no, the new doesn't superseed the old, it just means that Jesus accomplished it.would it be true to say as humans advanced, there covenants advanced with them.?
also each covenant superseeds the last.?
Now, it didn't escape my notice that what you asked, was quite intelligent and profound. Correct me if I am wrong but I saw you as asking, as we advance, as life advances and becomes more difficult, do we grow in that promise with God.
If I'm correct in that assumption, then yes, in my opinion, we do grow, we grow in Spiritual discipline. We should become more mature about certain things like understanding that no one said this was going to be easy. Understanding things like we are never going to achieve perfection. Understanding that sometimes it's hard for us to have faith in something we can't see. Understanding that many times we are going to have to take a leap of faith and as hard as it is, grow to a stage where we can just accept that even when life gives us a kick in the pants, it's all for a purpose and that God knows what's best for us because he has a purpose for us.
To eventually understand that if we keep that covenant with God then Blessings accrue to those who are faithful.

as we know we are not perfect, and all need Jesus.and help throughout our lives.so when we have Jesus and follow his Words we are then ok.God see,s us as righteous.and we can have a relationship with God.
the reason i ask about the covenants is this,we were/are in a fallen state, was this state a lot worse in the beginning.?
did we need to mature in covenants for Jesus to come.?
is this the reason why jesus came at the time he did.?
how many covernants were given.?
