Default What is Many in Matt 26:28 ???

Hi to all , and again there is a VERY interesting verse in Matt 26:28 !

    1) The Context of Matt 26:19 is to make ready the PAssover , which definitely POINTS to a Jewish Context .

    2) Then in verse 26-27 Jesus continues to explain the Passover .

    3) Then in verse 28 , Jesus says that blood of the New Testament or which also is the New Covenant , for the forgiveness of Sins , which is Different than what Paul preachs in Eph 2:8 or Rom 10:9 !!

    4) Then in verse 29 , Jesus will drink it anew with the 12 Apoatles in the Kingdom , which is the Millennial Kingdom .

    5) But How do we reconcile what Jesus says in verse 28 ???

    6) V28 , " which is shed for MANY "

    7) How much is MANY ????

    8) 10 , MAYBE 10,000 people , so how much is many ???

    9) Paul says in 1 Tim 2:6 , " Christ Jesus gave Himself a Ransom For All , But this was written by Paul , many , many , years later , right , so that the 12 disciples could not know , because it was not yet written .

    10) Jesus knew that He was dying for the whole world , so why did He not reveal to all what it signified and ONLY told the 12 that He died for MANY ????

    Default Particular Atonement

The "Many" are Christ's sheep, his people. Christ says i lay down my life for my sheep, not for every single human being. His sheep for whom he died are those whom he predestined to be saved before the foundation of the world.

Hi wearesiaac , I believe that the Context reveals who you call sheep , and it is Israel and not Gentiles , and with Christ as the Head of the Body and with us as members , we are called the Body of Christ and not sheep ?????

Jewish context for what? Whom Jesus saves?

    3) Then in verse 28 , Jesus says that blood of the New Testament or which also is the New Covenant , for the forgiveness of Sins , which is Different than what Paul preachs in Eph 2:8 or Rom 10:9 !!
There is no difference between what Paul and Jesus say.

    4) Then in verse 29 , Jesus will drink it anew with the 12 Apoatles in the Kingdom , which is the Millennial Kingdom .
    Is not the Mellennial Kingdom.

    10) Jesus knew that He was dying for the whole world , so why did He not reveal to all what it signified and ONLY told the 12 that He died for MANY ????
Jesus did not die for the whole world (if by that you mean everyone), but only for those who believe. Jesus was clear many times with the desciples that whomever beliefs in him will be saved.

I believe that the Context reveals who you call sheep , and it is Israel and not Gentiles
All who belong to Jesus are his sheep.

    Dear DeaconDan ,

    just a question

what do you believe is the millennial kingdom with particular reference to

what Jesus tells His disciples in Luke 22:29-30 , and Matthew 19:28

I use for reference the Geneva study bible ,but the KJV is just as clear

Matt19:28And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Jesus said his kingdom is not of this world. In the New Testament, Israel is a spiritual kingdom, that we are made citizens of through Christ. It is here the Apostles rule.

The word for "regeneration" is used only one other place in the Bible, that is in reference to salvation itself where we are regenerated by the Holy Spirit. It is at this point we become citizens of Israel.

So the apostles will judge us in the future and we who have now become the 12 tribes of Israel ,how do we know which tribe we belong to and what are we judged on .

So we do not have assured salvation based on The Gospel of Grace ,but on some future judgement

We have assurance of salvation through Jesus which will happen at the bema seat of Christ and has already happened at the moment of accepting Christ.
