My Bible says, and God said ''let there be light and there was light'' and not, ''let there be bang and there was bang''.

Is there a scripture you can bring to substantiate the claim?

I'm sorry if i offended anyone or caused an arguement. I didn't mean to.
I was just wondering what your opinions where on all of this.
I am tryin to understand the theories that science has and whether they agree or not with the bible.

Dear Sara , do not apologise , this is the point of a forum , but , there is a fundamental question that needs to be asked with all the theories , not outside but inside Christendom because what is said in the secular world really is an irrelevance ,is do you believe the bible is the inerrent word of God , and you can almost still get a 100% agreement that it is (whether true or not) ,so bearing that in mind what does the bible say about creation , and to find out , you read what "THE BIBLE" says , not what ant theologian or another christian says about what it says .

So in Genesis chapter 1:1-2:1 and that is what a christian must look to as the final authority ,nothing added , nothing taken away and in its proper context .

God Spoke , no big bang , and not intelligent design ...GOD SPOKE

God created the the heaven and earth ...in 1 Day , not 20000zillion years ...1 day

God said Let the waters bring forth moving creatures that hath life and fowl that fly, and whales and evry living creature that moveth ....in 1 DAY

and so on and so on completed in 6 Days

This is what the word of God tells and tis is what we as christians have faith in , it is as important to believe this as it is about the promises of God to the believers in the New Testament


There is no indiction of a Gap or of evolutionary processes in the passage of scripture , so we must not add or takeaway from it , if we have opinions they are just that but the final authority must belong to the truth of the Word of God


SO Sara once again never hesitate in asking here on Lampstand , but never take anyones word for anything without first seeing what sayeth the scriptures , if this approach was good enough for CHrist and Paul , its good enough for all His saints

Thank you onesipherous for your post. I do believe the Bible is the inerrant word of God. I don't need any proof to believe in Him. I can see his work all around me. I suppose with all these theories flying around, one can get a bit confused.

As for the Big Bang, i definately don't believe in it. How can something so simple as a bang create something so complex as the earth? Or is that where evolution comes in?

Absolutely , that is why we must be grounded in the truth of the Word so we do not get confused , me included

I am glad I'm not the only one that gets confused.
I hear of "Christians" saying they believe in God. But yet they believe in the Big Bang, Evolution, the 3 world age theory (I think it's called that). For me it's easy to get confused.

Sara Don't worry about all the theories flying around. If you believe the Bible as the true Word of God, then that is your guide. Don't let anything or anyone take you away from that.

I can't wait for the day when God puts this man made garbage to rest. Here is what I don't understand, Christians believe Jesus died for our sins, because this gives people a answer of how they will get to heaven. They believe it, but when man comes up with some hog wash, some rather believe that instead of the Genesis account of creation, You simply can't believe John 3:16 on the true word of the Bible, but not accept what is said in Genesis. You either believe the whole Bible as Gods Living absolute truth or not ,you can't have it both ways. You ancestorers are either apes our what ever the new therioes say or your a descendent of Adam And Eve.
There is absoutly no science in Evolution at all in fact science does more to disprove evolution than support it. I'm sorry if I sound harse, but this evolution junk gives way to athiest saying the bible is not accurate.
