The problem is I feel that you are close friends and I'm not on this forum to hurt anybodies fellings. Maybe I'm to soft hearted but friendships that start through the love of Jesus mean allot to me to upset anyone. That is why I let some topic's go by because they seem to be to controversial. OF course I know your both not like that, Please excuse me, I starting to have some confusion problems with medications so If I sound stupid forgive me.

Hi Robert,

Onesiphorus and I, hardly know each other. I hope your feeling much better when you read this reply. You sound very stressed and I pray the Lord will draw near you and heal as well as keep you.

Love Faith.xx

Dear Faith ,I have no confusion as to what the scriptures say and the scriptures say or what the Holy Ghost shows of Jesus , but you have still not answered what I have asked in #31 and that is why I am asking because I have heard it said so many times that he wept for Mary , and Martha or He wept for Lazarus but that cannot be the case because as I have said why weep in mourning when you are going to raise Lazarus and therefore there by stop Mary and Marthas woes . In my reference to Luke19:41 previously He wept for Israel because in Romans15:8 it clearly states what Jesus, earthly ministry was ...to "confirm the promises made unto the fathers " signs and wonders were part of this confirmation and Jesus provided in Johns words a lot to paraphrase and still religious Israel did not accept Him as their Messiah which would have heralded in the Kingdom

So I am asking did He actually weep for those around Him which is the common interpretation or did He weep for Israel

The order He gave was for them to "roll away the stone "what is the meaning of that .....He didn,t roll it away for them they had to do it and so by doing it Lazarus could be freed from that which bound Him .

DEar RObert , your imput would be welcomed please give your views

i imagine Jesus has a heart like anybody else, when you see your friends in pain you hurt for them.even though Jesus knew it would be ok,there pain he still felt.loving God.

When ya say Jesus knew it would be ok ya mean living,, I wonder if Jesus was sad that they did not think Laz would be better off. That they had not got the message yet.... possibly... just a twopenneth.

A combination of emotion and disappointment maybe.

I think he would have cried when he heard the news if he was simply sad his mate died.

Default Lazarus

Jesus was not sadden, about the death of Lazarus. He knew what was going to be done ahead of time. His saddness was that Lazarus sisters did not have the faith, to believe Jesus was not limited in his powers.
He explained this to Martha. John 11: 20-25.
Jesus new there would be many people there, in those days they would pay morners to go to the homes of the families who had lost a loved one, these morners would go and mourn with the people because they were paid to, 9(sort of like profesional mourners.) See John 11:19. Jesus new he would raise Lazarus form the grave to give honor and glory to the Father, so as the people watched they would believe in Jesus. Even His disciples doubted in Him at this time. See John 11:12-16. The reason Jesus waited 4 days was so there would be no doubt in anyones minds that Lazarus was trully dead and it was not a trick. In verse 35 where it say's Jesus wept, it was because of a lack of faith by Mary, Martha, And His Disciples. Then if you skip down to John 11: 45 you will see many people then believed in Jesus. And of course others wanted all the more to kill Jesus.

Dear Robert , That is why Jesus wept, he wept for His people Israel, as he did in Luke 19:41, another thing moving on a week in His life , where were all those he healed and delivered when He hung on the cross , I think the count was 3 not even His Apostles came to Calvary only one , every healing and deliverance was paid for on the body of our Savior yet no one came to the foot of the cross

Jesus knew Lazarus would be raised. I beleive Jesus wept because of their unbelief or lack of faith. Maybee he was expecting them to raise him.

John 11:40-42 40 Jesus said to her, "Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?" 41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, "Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. 42 And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me."
