Default Living in the Spirit.

To live in the Spirit is though, but you can do it, First is to take yourself out of doing things the way the world does. Then you need to get yourself with the teaching's of the Lord. Next is to be the best you can at acting and doing what you feel God would have you do in any situation, your life needs to be guided by the type of Love that Jesus showed us. Your education is next, as it say's in 2 Timothy 2:15. Basically it takes much reading and studying, the scripture, and much prayer. Here is some scriptures that can help you. Romans 12:1,2 1 John 2:15,16 Romans 13: 11-14. There is many more. When you here someone such as a Pastor reffer to scripture, write it down and check it out, When you read the word ask the Holy Spirit to guide you and reveal the wisdom He would want you to know. One way to check out scripture is back it up by comparing to 2 or 3 others. I would use say 1 in the OT and 2 in the NT. You may have to get away from some people even friends that have a tendency to move you in the wrong direction.

I know that this sounds hard and it is, but like the athlete who wants to be the best ity takes allot of training.

Isn't it simply saying no to the flesh and living for God. Loving God with all our heart soul and mind and our brother as ourself. Aren't we then living in the spirit? I think when our mind is on God and not on the flesh, we are living in the spirit. When living for God becomes more important and living for ourselves becomes less important, I think then we are living in the spirit

1. Through Confessing sin
1 John 1:9, Proverbs 28:13

2. Through His Grace
2 Corinthians 4:7, James 4:6, Galatians 5:13-25

Amen Jaydub

I like to think that we are like a glass. We can be full of self or full of the Spirit. The more we empty us of ourselves the more we can be filled with the Spirit

If we want to live in the Spirit, there is no substitute for prayer.

I used to think of praying primarily as intercession, and so to pray more meant to ask more, with bigger lists of people to pray for (that I never managed to keep up with). I'm not denying that praying for others is important - after all, Jesus himself prays for us! But now, I am learning more about just being with God in prayer, just enjoying his presence, and allowing him to touch me with his love.

The more you pray the closer you'll get to the Lord.

Once you know who and what is God, you learn to follow Him through reading the scriptures, He wants us to be like Him, after all He is our Heavenly Father and we are His children. He wants us to belong to His family, to be like and live like His first born son our Lord Jesus. I think that is what it means to live in the spirit.
