| The bible verse actually says 2Pe 3:8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. It is not saying a day is a thousand years. It is saying that God is outside of time. and can see a thousand years as a day and a day as a thousand years. We cant use that verse as an explanation of creation.

| The disciples was merely pointing out that to God there is no difference between one day and a thousand years. He already knows the end before the beginning. The Lambs book of the living written before the foundation of the world. God already knows the future even your future. He knows what you will say psalm 139 and more importantly he know the end and who will live. Because he has already seen it. We sometimes forget that God is Omnipresent and omnipotent. He is neither limited by time nor lacks power. Love Faith.xx

| I do not believe in evolution, I believe the six days in Genesis were a literal six days, but I believe the earth may have existed before those six days Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Gen 1:2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. Before day one, we see the earth and it was void and formless and the spirit of God was hovering over the water It seems to me that the earth was already in existence, We know from verse one, that it was created by God, but I think it may be possible, that the earth is much older then man. I am not saying man evolved on earth. I am saying that it looks possible God put man on an old earth. We never actually see God create the earth. We only see him separate the waters from the land. The water and the land seem to already exist. |

| Quote:
For [in] six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them [is], and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. If you believe in the literal 24 hour days, then this verse would indicate that the earth was included in the creation week. In six days the Lord created the heaven and earth, and everything else. It just seems to me that based on this passage, the earth cannot be very old. If it was created in part of the six day week, then it would seem that the earth wasn't around for millions of years before man got here. Last edited by DaveSlayer; 11-29-2008 at 07:56 AM. |

| Some liberal theologians have used this "Gap theory" to explain dinosaurs and fossils and formation of coal and diamonds and the geological time sysyem . but to do this is to add to the scriptures , and they know that bible believers cannot argue from the bible as once again you cannot argue against something biblically unless it actually says it in scripture . It always seems the case that Satan from the time of the Fall has always added to the Word of God to twist the mind of Man , he even used the same tactic against our Lord |

| Some folks say that verse 2 "Without form and void"suggests a cloud of gas and that God started from there with creation as we have it described in Genisis.

| Bloodbought, You and I were talking about different verses. You assumed I was misquoting The bible verse actually says 2Pe 3:8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. I was actually quoting: Genesis 1:5 God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day. I was merely trying to point out what constituted "a day". |

| Thanks for pointing thatout HeygwenCOG The verse I was quoting is the one the most folks use to say that creation took 6 thousand years. Other will argue that the length of a day was different and that the day as we know it started from the flood when something catastrophic happened to the earth. What matters is that we believe that GOD created the earth. When qwe get to Heaven He will tell us how he did it. Until then we have to exercise our faith as we can not prove it was 7 days, 7 thousand years or millions of years.

![]() The Lord God had a reason for taking 6 days and resting on the 7th. He could have just said " everything be so". But it was more important that he did what he did so there could be no mistake regarding the truth.xx Love Faith.xx
