| Well, I suppose different people turn to Christ for different reasons. However, I'm just trying to say that if there was no fear of punishment, I personally wouldn't have seen any reason to ask God for forgiveness. I can't speak for others--only for myself. However, the reason so many turn Him away is because they have no fear of Him or of hell. I've heard the phrase, "Well, all my friends are going there, and we'll have a great time." Satan really has them fooled and blinded to the truth doesn't he?

| God does not want anyone to go to hell, but a thorough understanding of ALL of God's Word will tell you that what God says, He means, and that includes allowing people to go to hell who have not had their sins blotted out by the blood of Jesus. Read in the Old Testament where God ordained the slaughter of entire nations including children. We just cannot reduce God to this wimpy, excuse everyones sins, kind of God. He has said what He means and He means what He said. If He did not spare His own Son, don't you think those who do not accept Jesus will not go to heaven? If everyone were going to go to heaven, then there would have been no reason for Christ to make the sacrifice of the cross. |

| God cannot allow sin (disobedience) into Heaven. Satan disobeyed by trying to become like God. God created the Lake of fire to keep him out of Heaven. All men have sinned (disobeyed God) by refusing to obey God's command to repent. By their own choice they will not be in Heaven and therefore must go to the Lake of fire. Don't blame God, He is holy and reighteous and has provided a way to heaven for all who repent and believe in Jesus Christ as Saviour.

| That is totally correct, Bloodbought. I agree with you on that. If God allowed disobedience in Heaven, it would be the same as it is on Earth. It wouldn't exactly be Paradise, would it? My idea of Heaven is eternal rest from the wares of Earth - the constant bloodshed, rape, murder, death....I'm tired of it all. I want to forget about it all and be in a place where I can go outside and not be afraid, not have to look over my shoulder. I want to hear the good news not the bad news, I want to look into peoples faces and smile and have a good discussion with them. I don't want to see what I see here again. I want to rest for once...I want to really be happy.

| When Satan (Prince of the Power of the Air) sinned God through himout of Heaven until Jesus could come and defeat him on the cross. Jesus overcame all the curses brought about because of Satan and won the victory over him. So that inGod time he will be cast into the Lake of Fire

| For me this scripture helps me to understand why God has created a Hell for satan and for those who are not saved. Romans 9: 14 What shall we say then ? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid . 15. For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy , and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion . 16. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy . 17. For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up , that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. 18. Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth . 19.Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault ? For who hath resisted his will? 20.Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God ? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? 21. Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honor, and another unto dishonor? For me these verses explain why God does as he does...the way I understand it is because He is God, and who am I to question His will. I dont know if this makes since, I could be completely off, its just my 2 cents.... God Bless! Laura |

Its been awhile since I have been able to post so I will have to start here in order to catch up to the conversation. Honestly, not much has been said in way of proof against the truth that there is no such thing as eternal torment. The problem with the doctrines of Christianity and the rest of the secular and religious world is that they continually speak on such things as "I have heard it said" or "in my opinion" or "God has not given all truth to us because some things He doesnt want us to understand". None of these can or should be accepted as truth since they contradict the scriptures and preach a different Gospel than that of the scriptures. First of all scripture teaches us that those who believe will be lead by the spirit into ALL TRUTH. Not some truth or a portion thereof. This insistant claim that we are not able to know all things regarding the scriptures is a false lie of the devil. It promotes one to be content in only having a fraction of the truth and to deny anything other than what we presently know to be true. Having a partial understanding of the truth is to sincerely live in deception since not all the facts are understood. Theses present understandings are changed as we grow in Christ but when we refuse to accept the growth and development of understanding we are left without true understanding of spiritual things. This is carnality in its purest form. Because one cannot understant a large portion of scripture is because they do not have spiritual understanding so the most common excuse for lacking understanding in spiritual things is "The things we don't understand belong to God". Eyes will never open as long as we make excuses for why we dont understand. Earlier in this post I asked many questions regarding the parables and spiritual understanding and I was confronted with this and similar answers to why these parables were not understood. These parables are the key to gaining spiritual understanding yet those who claim to be the most spiritually gifted people on this planet are decieved in regards to truly understanding the depth and riches contained therein. Jesus explained clearly just how important it was for us to gain an understanding if the parables He spoke. Why? Because if you cannot understand the parables, how can you understand anything spiritual. The whole of scripture is symbolic yet it is only taught in the carnal. Maybe a thread should be opened dealing with one parable at a time in order to find the truth through those spiritual keys of understanding? God bless, Dave |
