A new Church home, and new minstries!

The LORD is sooooo very GOOD! AMEN. I give HIM all my PRAISE!

It has been about 5 years, that my hubby and I have been looking for a new Church to call home. We have prayed for a Church, that preaches the WORD, and doesn't try to sugar coat it. We also wanted a Church that can use us. We are both doer's of the WORD, and didn't want to just warm a pew.

Well, I'll explain how this happened. My sister, Cathy, who has a lovely voice and a gift of music, has been with her for as long as I can remember, finally gave her all to the LORD, about doing a Music Ministry. She has tried many times in the past, but because she didn't wait upon the LORD, the doors never really opened for her. This year, the LORD began to press upon her heart, that this was the right time, for her to start singing for HIM, and that HE would provide all the right places for her to go and sing. Well, one of the first opportunities was a little Baptist Church, right here in the inner city! It is not too far from where we live. My hubby and I agreed to go with her to her, as a moral support. We were so impressed with the message that the Pastor gave, during this Wednesday Evening Service, that we have faithfully attended for several weeks. My hubby wasn't sure that this was the right church, because he was raised Pentecostal. Well, i told him to stop looking at the name on the Church and ask the LORD if this was the right place for us to attend. Thenk, I just prayed about it. Yesterday, after the morning service, my hubby told me he wanted to join this Church, and asked me if I felt lead to join! My response, was that I was waiting on his decision and had been praying since our first visit there. The LORD is sooo very GOOD, and we were accepted into the membership last night, after, Cathy's first official concert! We were able to give this testimony to being faithful to the calling on one's life, often will lead others to the right place with the LORD. Because she was faithful, we found a Church to call home! AMEN!

Now, this is even more awesome, bcause I told the Pastor and his wife, that we want to be used, where ever they need us, but we also want to do Street Light Ministry there too. The Pastor's wife, often watches the babies, so she doesn't get to attend the morning service. I have offered to split the Sunday Morning Worship Services with her, and take on some of the baby sitting, during service. This was another, answer to prayer, for her! Then, to my surprise, I have been offered the opportunity to teach Sunday School Classes. My sister, told them about all the ministries that I have been involved in and they need a Sunday School teacher, for the 9-10 year old's! I'll have to replace some pupets that I used years before, but want to give these children a firm foundation of Scriptue, so that they will understand about JESUS and all HE has done for us. Last night, I was already praying about Sunday School lessons that will give them hands on, activities. Of course, I told the Pastor and his wife, I would teach any classes that they wanted me to teach, and I didn't care about which age group, as long as I could be used! PRAISE THE LORD!

So, as you can see, there are many testimonies within this one. The LORD has answered our prayers for a church and to be used, for HIS GLORY. HE has blessed my sister with a new Music Ministy, and HE has blessed the Pastor's wife, with some much needed help with the nursery, during service, and HE has filled a need within this Church! On top of all this, the Street Light Ministry will be able to go forward, and reach out into the community!

The LORD is turning a Church around on it's heels, too. This Church is mostly seniors, and it needs REVIVAL in so many ways. Our prayer is, that as the people come in, they find JESUS waiting for them, accept the INVITATION of SALVATION, and become active members.

None, of these things could have taken place, without the LORD. And nothing would have become FRUITFUL, if we were not trying to live totally for HIM. It really pays to live in obedience to HIS WORD. AMEN.

Please pray for Pastor Jones and for Berclair Baptist Church. Pray for us, as we begin to be used by the LORD, and for my sister Cathy's Music Ministry. Please pray that all these things, will GLORIFY, EDIFY and draw others to know and accept our PRECIOUS LORD'S gift of SALVATION.

Thank you Canny. It was all in the LORD'S TIMING. I have no other explaination for all that has taken place this past week. Even my daughter, who has been running form the LORD, has had a quickening of the SPIRIT. The LORD reminded her that HE was waiting for her to come back to HIM, and live for HIM. She too, has a gift of music, and has been used by the LORD. So, when we got the phone call, that someone wanted to take her to her aunt's concert, we were excited. It turns out that her (date) is about to start Seminary, to become a Pastor! The LORD truly is WONDERFUL! As a mother, I have prayed, many, many times, for godly husbands, for my daughters. I haven't seen her sooo excited, in a very long time.

When I asked the Lord Jesus Christ to come into my heart after a near nervous breakdown in 2003, I had no idea what church I was to enter. In just one small area we had Catholic, Baptist Methodist, Pentecostal, Seventh Day Adventist and Salvation Army churches, so you can imagine I was in a flat spin. But then I thought... if God, through His Son Jesus Christ had changed my entire life, (although at that stage I didn't know whether this was just another religious phase I was going through), then surely He wouldn't see me wrong. I therefore asked Him to guide me to a church of His choice. It wouldn't mean to say that all the other churches were "wrong", it would merely mean the God, and God only, knew what was right for me personally. Spiritual nourishment is vital. The other area in which God took control was in my wanting to be His servant. I wanted to fight the good fight with all my might and stood by sword in one hand, Bible in the other, metaphorically speaking. Of course it didn't happen God had to let me settle down first, otherwise I would have been full of myself. Five years were to pass before He decided to use me as a vessel into helping somebody to find salvation.

So when people say they find it awesome or absolutely amazing that things just happen to fall into place where people are at the right place at the right time, the one person who isn't in the least bit surprised is me, because hears, and digests people's prayers and answers them at His own pace. When I became reborn, I decided to keep a prayer diary, and without a word of a lie, every single request or plea for help was answered. The only request that was turned down flat was when I asked God to make it rain so I didn't have to take my family to a boot sale, and could go to church instead! Had He granted my my wish, it would have ruined it for thousands of people!! The only occasion I purposefully tried to use God! No doubt it caused a few smiles "up top"

I am genuinely happy for all of you, and thank God accordingly, but I am not surprised. As the opening words of the hymn go: "God is working His purpose out, as year succeeds to year..."

I get excited everytime the LORD begins to move in my life, or that of my family members. I get excited when someone accepts SALVATION, and rejoice with the angels. It is hard not to be excited about the things that are taking place. I pray that this JOY overflows to all that read this testimony. GOD is GOOD! HE is FAITHFUL, even when we are not. HE always pulls us back to HIM. EVERYTHING has a PURPOSE, and the PURPOSE is to GLORIFY the LORD. All these things, happening within our family is a TESTIMONY to HIS LOVE, GRACE and MERCY. We sometimes wonder why the LORD hasn't answered our prayers, it could be, that HE has answered no; or it is not HIS TIMING, just yet. It is important to hold on to our faith, believing that the LORD knows what is best for each of us. HE wants our obedience to HIS WORD. I'm not talking about following the letter of the law, but an obedience, that makes us willing and able to be used, for HIS GLORY. Once you find that place, things begin to change. There is no other explanation for all that is happening within our home right now, but that the LORD has opened up so many opportunities for us, to be used in HIS WORK. I can't thank HIM enough, and I pray each day, that there will be a fire, that spreads, within the Church, the Community and eventually our city! I want others to know the LORD I serve, is REAL! AMEN. And what HE has done for us, HE can do, for you, too.
