I have a question

Why do we see the term the Jews used in cases such as these, weren't they all Jews at least the great majority

Jhn 7:13 Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews.

These men who did not speak openly were also Jews, Right?

[His] disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again?

The disciples were Jews so why do they use this term, why didn't they just say the people, I have always assumed that most of the people were Jews am I wrong

Jhn 9:22 These [words] spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.

The man who was healed and his parents were they not Jews?

Jhn 13:33 Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you.

Again Jesus talking to his disciples who are Jews speaks of the Jews

Why do we see the term the Jews when he is speaking to Jews and why do people who are Jews speak of the Jews

The word translated to "Jew" means Judean. Jesus of Nazareth was not a Judean. Nazareth was in Galilee, not Judea.

Dear Deacon Dan ,you are not strictly correct ,because Judea was named after Judah , and Jesus sprang from out of Judah ( Hebrews 7:14) Jesus is also the "LION " who is the "tribe of JUdah of Revelation 5:5.

So even though He was born a galilean in the natural ,prophetically He is a Judaen ,and prophetically he came out of Bethlem as prophesied in Micah 5:2 ,so fulfilling two of Gods prophetic promises to Israel ,again missed by the religious Jews Jesus is speaking of

The term used in the OP is the religious Israel who were the representative Israel eg the sanhedrin ,the pharisees ,and saducees as opposed to the individual person

don,t forget even with all the miracles shown,blind seeing etc.
they still called jesus a devil.
as you know by there fruits ye shall know them.

if you were a doctor today,and jesus came and cured all the sick,the doctor would be out of a job,the doctor wouldn,t want this.
same with police,soliciters ,etc etc etc.
the power base of this world is dependant on sick people.

if nobody broke the law,there would be no police,no lawyers no soliciters.
if everybody came to Christ this world would change dramatically.
i imagine soliciters rub there hands together when teens get married,and see them as future clients.
people don,t want Christians they want sinners to feed them money.
this is a spirit war great wickedness in high places,there places are only high because of peoples failures.

exactly why the jews dismissed Christ,they were of high stature,being told from God to tell the others what to do.
with Christ saying all through him could do this undermined there position of power,so they tried to shut him down.
