    No.

Someone is going to try to quote the Apostle's creed to me and I'm going to tell them that it was later added to the Apostle's creed because it wasn't in the original.

"For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption."-Psalm 16:10

There were two compartments in Hell for the Dead. One is where the righteous went called "Abraham's Bosom" and the other compartment was where the wicked went.

"And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame."-Luke 16:24

The only way that the dead who live in the compartment can ask for water is if one of the compartments have water and the only way they could have water is if there isn't a flame.

"And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence."-Luke 16:26

    This gulf separates the compartments.

Another thing is that the phrase "suffered in hell" was added to the Apostle's creed and it wasn't in the original creed of the Apostles but you have people saying it for years and they need to learn the Bible.

"When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost."-John 19:30

The Greek word is tetelestai which means "paid in full". If your theology has Jesus suffering in hell then it isn't paid in full because the penalty has just begun and perhaps we are adding something to the sacrificial system. If Jesus entered in with the wicked then he would have seen corruption so I don't believe He suffered in Hell.

I'm puzzled by your post, Chuck. What version of the Apostles' Creed are you referring to? The version of the Apostles' Creed that I learned says:

"He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again."

There is no mention of Christ suffering in hell there, and indeed, no mention of hell either. As I understand it, it refers to the place of the dead (Gk "Hades", sometimes translated "the grave") and not the place of punishment ("gehenna").

It makes me stop and reflect, though. Too easy just to type words, and not ponder the amazing sacrifice of Christ for the sins of the world, that he was willing to do this for you and me.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church gives the following English translation of the Apostles' Creed.[15] In its discussion of the Creed,[16] the Catechism maintains the traditional division into twelve articles, the numbering of which is here added to the text.

    1. I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
    2. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
    3. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
    4. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
    5. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again.
    6. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
    7. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
    8. I believe in the Holy Spirit,
    9. the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints,
    10. the forgiveness of sins,
    11. the resurrection of the body,
    12. and life everlasting.
    Amen.
