You are right there are more gifts but I don't think we would be super humans if we all recieved all the gifts. It is always God who is working, not us. This is where the abuse of the Gifts comes in because sometimes people will say that it is they who have the power - they do not, the power is always from God and we are merely the vessel He uses. The gift of tongues is useful in giving us words from God but the gift of tongues should never be used in public if there is no one there to interpret it.

What I do not understand is why some are given so much priority ? The Holy Spirit will equip us with the Gifts that are suitable for us. IMO.

It is man that has tried to give one or another priority, to boost their ego !
The Holy Spirit gives to us as HE wills for a specific reason, at a specific time and in a specific place !
4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will? Heb 2:4 (KJV)

There are many that do not undersand or want to understand the gifts of The Holy Spirit. I am from a Pentecostal background and have no problem with them at all. If you have any queries ask and I will try to answere them, but if someone wants to criticise, then I will withdraw, for it is not me you will be criticicing but HIM. Scripture is clear ! I will endeavour to use Scripture to answere your queries.

If anyone does not want to except that than your arguement is with God.
If you don't understand it than pray for the Holy Spirit for the wisdom to understand.

Maybe people should just ask is there scripture that can support what is being said. Please try and understand what I'm trying to say is a person can not get answers to spiritual questions by going to the world for answers. Yes hun I know they are, I was reading it this afternoon, I was just asking why people attach such prominence to some rather than others... I have to go to the world to ask that,, because unless the list is actually taken in order of priority,,,,,, ( which if it is, tongues is down low ) it strikes me that some gifts appear more erm glamerous (for want of a better word).
