Oops, a bit of an old thread?
No problem at all Farouk. It's nice to see old threads having a kick start again giving posters a chance to have some different conversation. Please, kick start as many as you wish![]()

Ms lily, oh okay!
You see what I mean about the numbing agents, though, that I referred to?
I guess the existence of the numbing agents now on the market is going to make a lot of difference to the 18 year olds that go to the parlor for their b-day rite of passage. To have it done pain free.
Yes I did Farouk. Do you know anyone who has used it ? I'm wondering if it's the same type of gel we would use on children when I worked in an operating theatre. That was called Emla gel.
Only problem I can see with that is that it takes rather a long time to work before the numbness sets in ( about an hour I think ) and wears off rather quickly. We would instruct the Nurses on the wards to put it on the childs hand about an hour before coming to theatre and was usually timed very well, that we could get a cannulae in quite painlessly before it wore off.
Would be useful ( if it is the same cream ) for something thats going to take no more than about 20 minutes.
Do you know if it's the same cream ?

PS: I'm not sure how widespread it is with you guys over the Pond, but over here its distribution has expanded.
It will sure make a difference, anyway.
