Default Jehovah Witnesses - where do they get their ideas from???!!!

A couple of Jehovah Witnesses came calling the other day and tried to get my wife sucked into their religion. We all know they reject blood transfusions (based on just two passages in the Bible - taken out of context there's a passage in Exodus that makes Moses out to be a crack golfer ), but the most offensive piece of literature I read from their Watchtower magazine was that Jesus did NOT die for our sins on a cross. No, hundred upon millions of Christians the world over have got it wrong - He died on a stake! The Greek word for cross was translated for a single piece of wood, so the entire regiment is out of step except them!

Better tell the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Pope they've got it wrong It went straight into the rubbish bin.

Dear Frederick I always regard their calling as an opportunity to preach the Gospel and also go over passages which show Christ as our savior , remember , they are where they are , we as born again Christians can plant a seed of truth that they can either do something with or not and that is not for us to know , but they also are in need of salvation and freedom by the truth . Most though when I tell them I am a christian do not want to discuss , however I try with them all . just as a side issue there is a fellow saint who when he gets a call from sales teams always asks them if they were to die yoday would they go to heaven (never quite worked out if it was a subtle way of getting them off the phone or not , but that what he does ).

I witness to them all the time and I know lots of scripture that blows there mind if you can get them to read scripture. But they have been brainwased not to read anything other that Jw material. They used an altered bible too.
After you get to them scripturally they retreat very quickly back to a higher up person in there church. If he scences you are smart he advises them to stay away.
I have never seen a more brainwashed group of people. There are some good web sites you can go to that ex JWs put up to counter their false doctorines.

hers my experience in talking with j/w. i asked them a few questions point blank. do you believe one must be born again to go to heaven?==answer yes.

the doctrine of the BLOOD that cleanses us = answer-yes. i threw the very basics of the BIBLE to them they answered yes to them all. i soon realized i was dealing with another spirit.

from what i have read and understand if you run them off tell them they are false teachers. that helps them get to heaven. i even asked if knew Christ was returning answer yes. it blew me away

Thet dont start getting nervous until you start showing them scripture with proof of the deity of God. There bible has changed some wording on certain verses, but not all. So there is plenty of scripture to show them.. The problem is they dont want to know it. They are comfortable living in the false spirit. They dont get curious until they are dis-fellowshiped. Very strange cult.
There is proof that mental illness runs rampant in there organization. Two web sites that might be helpful. 4jehovah.org or 4witness.org

Like the Mormons, you can spot them a mile away - they are impecably dressed! To see them, you'd swear blind they'd stepped straight out of a tailor's window. It gives them an air of purity and perfection. The Stepford Wives have nothing on these people! I spoke to a Christian Brother about them and told him how sincere they seemed. He agreed. They are sincere - sincerely wrong!

Their ideas change every 5 years.
When I was a kid, they had never admitted Jesus as God and the didn't believed in his blood.
Today, all of this is logical, hearing them...

Here are a few things JW's believe:

* Christ is not equal to God because He is a creature.

* Christ was first of God's creations

* Christ died on a stake, not a cross

* Christ was raised from the dead as an immortal spirit person

* Christ's presence is in spirit

* Kingdom under Christ will rule earth in righteousness and peace

* Kingdom brings ideal living conditions to earth

* Earth will never be destroyed or depopulated

* God will destroy present system of things in the battle at Har-Magedon

* Wicked will be eternally destroyed

* The human soul ceases to exist at death

* Hell is mankind's common grave

* Only a little flock of 144,000 go to heaven and rule with Christ

* The 144,000 are born again as spiritual sons of God

Based on: What do Jw's believe, but won't tell the general public

The deal is...they grow in numbers daily because they are out there witnessing...always.
It's a shame when those who don't know the truth work harder than those of us who do.
I didn't mean that as condemnation....it was only a thought.

Default JW's trick

The JW's operate out of Brooklyn NY. They have something like a board of directors and they are a massively wealthy organization. They print all their material from a live-in complex in Brooklyn and many JW's end up learning everything there is to know about printing technology. I understand they're one of the largest corporations located in Brooklyn NY (a part of New York City).
They basically maintain control over their members by disfellowshipment (excuse my word construction please). The local congregation can kick you out if you break certain rules and then they cruelly sever all connections with you to a degree that is shocking in its' scope.
Here's something to think about: Why do JW's work so hard, or seem to work so hard at evangelization? They do it out of fear. Fear they won't inherit the new earth ((heavens already full with 144,000 already dead JW's ) fear of disfellowshipment. Some may witness out of misplaced love of Christ.
A bona fide Christian never spreads the faith motivated by fear. They do it because they're motivated by love and the joy of being a Christian. There are people in my former church who are in their 80's and they've been going door to door for over 40 years every weekend. Why do they do it? Because they feel called to do it--they don't look down their noses at others who don't knock on doors with them, they do it out of a self-initiated concern for the lost living in their community. They operate quietly with the support of the church and they occasionally ask for prayer. JW's don't operate like that. You can learn much about a person if you understand their motives. Examine the motives of JW's and compare them to the motives of an active Christian and the differences begin to unravel and reveal two very different characters.
Argue with them and put up a strong fight for orthodox Christian belief and yes, as an earlier post suggested, they'll take note of you and send in their best arguers a week or so later, 1).to better fight you and 2) to protect junior members from any dangerous ideas you might place in their heads.
Many of them have no idea about the history of their movement. If you meet them why not encourage them to investigate it? Most have no idea who "judge Rutherford" or Charles Taze Russell are. They were the two first presidents of the Watch Tower Society (their legal name). These two men are not well known by JW's-- for very good reasons. I feel very sorry for JW's.
