Default Hell is a turn off

I don't think I can ever be comfortable with Christians who believe in eternal torment in hell fire...

I find it hard to understand how anyone could think God capable of torture...

I believe the traditional Christian doctine of hell... turns people away from God.

Hell was created for Satan and his demons, not for us. Those that reject the FREE gift of salvation through Jesus Christ that is available to ALL, choose hell. He does not make anyone go to hell. God does not torture; He just respects our free will and allows people to reject Him.

The choice is yours, Gary52 but God loves you and desires that you choose life.

So you're saying He is going to eternally torture Satan and his demons... That still means God does torture.

God does not torture; He just respects our free will and allows people to reject Him.
What happens to those that reject Him?

Hell is a place of torment and Satan and his demons will be thrown there. God is not present in hell so He is not there torturing. Part of the torment of hell is being eternally seperated from God...being alone.

What happens to those that reject Him?
They will be eternally separated from God which is part of the torment of hell.

You Say God is not present torturing them. But God created the place of torture, so God is the cause of their torture.
They will be eternally separated from God which is part of the torment of hell.
So now you admit that God does torture...

A God that does torture cannot be a God of love.

Dear Gary52 , grace and peace in Christ ,

YOu put forward many beliefs and thoughts but we as Christians must live by the truth of the Word , can you show me in a passage of scripture where you are basing your ideas, and what is the point you are trying to make

The point I'm trying to make, is that the traditional concept of hell does not make sense with a Creator who is all loving.

God doesn't choose to send anyone to hell....they choose this for themselves.

There are only two ways to go. A person either chooses God or they choose satan. They may not think this is what they are doing....but they are. Therefore, if they didn't choose God during their brief time on earth, then there is still their eternity(because man is an eternal spirit) to deal with. And again, IF they didn't choose God, then they will spend their eternity with the god they did choose. This god's eternal destiny is hell.

So, it's all in your choice. It isn't due to God being cruel.

Our God is also a righteous God who built our universe on principals of truth. For every wrong action, there has to be justice, or making it right. For sin, there has to be payment...just the way it works. To compromise that would cause the whole universe to fall apart. Same way the cosmological constant works, laws of physics, etc. Our loving God gave us a provision for the payment of sin, Jesus Christ!

Also, God's love is not a pampering love...it's a perfecting love. He gives us what we need, not what we want. When we are His children, our needs become our wants, so it all works out!

Greetings Gary52....What are those traditional concepts (ideas) that you are referring to? I think it would help those of us who are ministrying to you to first see what it is you believe and why you believe that way...
