    Actually, I believe that everything that exists proves that God is real. We have two choices at this point: Believe in God by faith, and believe the Bible to be His written word inspired by Him, or believe that everything popped into existence by chance.

    That would mean believing that matter popped into existence by itself with no design and from NOTHING, that life started from dead matter all by itself, that dead matter started to cling together and form planets, stars, and other celestial bodies (BILLIONS of them--from WHERE did all that matter come?)--including a huge bright sun of many thousands of degrees in temperature that ignited from WHAT? What keeps that sun burning space where there's no oxygen? What started it burning in the first place?

    Then you have to believe that the life that started by accident evolved over billions of years into what we now call "mankind", and that evolution has apparently stopped.

    Personally, I find it much easier to believe in an omnipotent God than in all that nonsense. Living by faith is so much easier than believing that my ancestors were just an ooze in the sea that popped into existence since there wouldn't have been any water for it to form from in the first place.

    I told someone once that it would take more faith for me to believe in evolution that it does to believe in creation. Faith to believe in evolution comes from within a person, but faith to believe in creation comes from God.

    I haven't seen anything that I would attribute to God. Tbh, life's been pretty normal recently although I got a nice award for a project I submitted. But I'm not gonna thank God for the award because I put a ton of hard work into that project.

    Of course, if I hadn't got the award I would have blamed God entirely.

    Ok, here's where I go science nerdy on you. Very few people know this, but actually the conservation of mass-energy law (ie. something can't come from nothing) is not strictly correct 100% of the time. In beta-minus decay (one type of radioactive emission), a neutron is turned into a W- boson which has mass 100 times that of a neutron. A split second later the W- boson forms a proton and electron (which have the same mass energy as a neutron). So this is what happens:

    Neutron -----> W- boson ------> Proton + Electron

    The Neutron has the same mass energy as the Proton and Electron. But it has 100 times less energy than the W- boson. So for a split second, energy is created out of nothing. Since energy is interchangeable with matter, that means matter can come from nothing, despite going against our own intuition.

    A nother example of matter coming from nothing is in the form of virtual particles popping seemingly randomly in and out of existence in a vacuum.

    In both these cases, scientists do not know how to make the created energy or matter stable, as it very quickly disappears. But nevertheless, it has been created from nothing.

    When there is lots of matter, gravitational forces pull it together very quickly. The matter collides and heat is given off. When there is loads of matter the collisions give off loads of heat allowing nuclear fusion to take place. The fusion of hydrogen into helium powers the sun.

    It's not burning. Burning as humans know it is a process called combustion. This process only releases a very small amount of energy. In a star such as the sun, nuclear fusion takes place at it's core, giving out huge amounts of energy. Nuclear fusion does not require the presence of oxygen.

    Evolution hasn't stopped. It still goes on, but at an incredibly slow rate. 2000 years is nothing in evolutionary time, since significant evolutioniary changes occur over thousands of generations. However, evolution can be observed in bacteria because they reproduce far more rapidly and so evolve far more rapidly than humans.

    The two are not mutually exclusive you know.

    And evolutionary theory can be proved as much as gravity has been proved. Evolution is as much of a scientific fact as gravity, or electromagnetism or the electron.

    I told someone once that it would take more faith for me to believe in evolution that it does to believe in creation.
    But tbh, evolution is supported by a whole host of evidence. Science can explain a lot of how the Universe came about, so it seems plausible that the world could be explained purely by science. I take it you've heard of God of the gaps? Just because we don't know everything, doesn't mean it is best to make God the explanation. Maybe if we were being super sensible we'd just say 'I don't know yet'.
