Matthew 7:13Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. 15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

It is important to point out that the fruit of the false prophet is being ecumenicalistic in nature as in gathering grapes of thorns and figs of thistles.

The false prophet will try to make an accord or an agreement with the world or a religions that is contrary to the christian faith from which believers are to defend and to stand apart from the world by.

2 Corinthians 6: 14Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. 18And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

The false prophet will seek to use christian love as an excuse to create and maintain unity at the expense of our identity by our faith, but we cannot have friendship with the world if we are to be witnesses of the Son to call them out of the world to that reconciled relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

James 4: 4Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

The false prophet will usually be using and waving a banner that does not exalt the name of Jesus Christ but some other name is being exalted like the "holy laughter" movement signifying one of the many "movements of the Spirit" or like the "Promise Keepers' program" which is a movement of men: it doesn't matter if it is "for Jesus Christ" when the name of that movement and that banner is not Jesus Christ. Such witnessing is exposed as a false prophet when the other elements is not decreasing so that Jesus may increase, thus bringing glory to the "Spirit" or to "men" when the indwelling Holy Spirit does not seek glory for Himself but to seek glory of the Son as the Holy Spirit would be leading believers to do the same. John 16:13-15 John 15:26-27 1 Corinthians 2:2

This is having the mind of Christ when we gather together for worship and fellowship: Philippians 2:5-11

So go to Jesus today and see what your church is promoting in His name that is not being waved on that banner, that is ecumenicalistic in nature, and seeks the glory of another and not of the Son's only.
