I must add though that that lovely Lady was always at loggerheads with this particular priest. It was no secret that there was no love lost between them, primary reason being her doing all she could to keep these meetings out of the actual church building. She made no secret of her distaste for it because she said her main concern was protecting the vunerable in the parish.
12 months later after many ding dongs between these two very strong characters she was moved away from the parish on the Arch Bishops say so. Now, as this priest was one of his closest advisors, it did make an awful lot of people wonder
She was a huge loss to, not only the parish but to the whole community I live in. Didn't matter to her if someone who needed help wasn't RC, she saw someone in trouble of any kind, she was there.
A huge loss.
Never be overwhelmed by decisions, just consider the right ones and your options will be far fewer.
And if you ignore this one whom is still in charge and bringing that which you had perceived as outside the Church into the Church: then maybe the RCC are ignoring others?
Do note the statement is posed in a question and not a definitive statement for you to declare it as an accusation.
Goes to point: just because you have not seen it personally after so many years in the Church, doesn't mean you are on top of this phenomenon.
Go ahead and ask: Has this holy laughter phenoemenon has ever occurred during Mass?
But if you do not want to inquire for the sake of the Church.......
But I still maintained that it is happening everywhere: not in every church across the world, but certainly across every denomenational barrier ascribing to the fruit of a false prophet described by Jesus as gathering grapes of thorns and figs of thistles.
Thus evidence that some of the churches are![]()

Asking all catholics that are a part of the official Roman Catholic Church:
Has this holy laughter phenomenon ever occurred during Mass?
There was a church I had visitted that was a christian community church where just Sunday prior, they had this phenomenon as happening in my aunt's church.
The relevancy is that this guest speaker was trying to give a sermon on "The Tragedy of Samson and Delilah". This church I had vistted had recorded the event and was showing it to several people from the video.
He began but starting chuckling. He stifled it and tried again. He chuckled again and that got a few of the people up front to laugh with him on that. Then as he was going on and on with interruptions of short bursts of laughs for a few more minutes, he just stopped, called everybody up whom the congregation were now laughing at that moment with him... and then everybody came up as the laughter got louder. They fell down on the floor and stuff.
There is more... as I witnessed the phenomenon myself later on after watching the video, but to cut it short and to the point: if this uncontrollable laughter can be rationalized and explained away for the individual, then it can be explained away for the crowd; and if it can stop a sermon, then it can stop a Mass.
If you would rather not share it publicly, then maybe PM the experience to Lily and she will "report" your experience anonymously if you prefer. Or PM canny. Or anybody you would prefer on the staff.
I would offer myself, but to be fair, other catholics may say that I would be making it up because of my stance... and it is my OP by the grace of God.

I am utterly exhausted after reading all this thread. I am so grateful that I do not belong to any "church" that has been established by people.
I know that I will be criticised for this but I just go out into the bush and meditate on what scripture I have been reading.
For me Isaiah is a summary of the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation. It is so pertinent to the world today and screams out to people to WAKE UP.
We need to prepare ourselves for when Christ returns, concentrate on yourself, dont worry about what your brother thinks or does. All of us have so many blots on our lives, we need to concentrate on cleaning them up. Only then by living our lives as closely as possible to what Christ demonstrated for us will we make a difference for our brothers and sisters.
God expects his sons and daughters to try and love one another not to argue about what we may think something means.
Follow the 10 commandments and really you cant go wrong.
First 4 tells you how to love God
The next 6 tells you how to love one another.
I'm flat out just trying to do that
written in love for all those on the forum
