With the shift in American politics to the left this year, the continued tension building globally concerning the Middle East, Iran, and Israel, I thought it would be beneficial to start a continuing thread.

Please post any news stories, thoughts, etc, concerning Israel and any news that relates to the future of Israel and how it relates to the world.

ALso, feel free to post scriptures that you feel relate to a news story or situation.

Rahm Emanuel has accepted the Chief of Staff position for the Obama adminstration. I don't know much about the guy other than he served in the Clinton Adminstration.

There is speculation that he may try to push for a divided Israel to appease the Palestinians.

The world, particularly anti-Israel leaders, will be testing the new president elect...most likely.

You need to watch Jerusalem as never before. We are going to see half of that city fall very soon. It could happen this year!
Zechariah 14 contains an end-time prophecy about half of Jerusalem falling to the enemy. When half of Jerusalem falls, it starts a chain reaction of events—an avalanche of crises—that leads directly to Jesus Christ’s Second Coming!

The Palestinian side has called for a detailed agreement specifying each party's commitment on key points, such as borders, Jerusalem, refugees, and Israeli settlements.
Abbas said "We must address issues of refugees, Jerusalem, borders, settlements, water and security,"

A new bill intended to hinder any future division of Jerusalem has been approved in its preliminary reading in Israel’s parliament, the Knesset. This would make it more difficult for concessions to be made over Jerusalem at the upcoming Middle East peace conference in Annapolis, Maryland.

I cannot recall where these quotes came from but they certainly put the division of Jerusalem high up on some peoples agenda.

If they do achieve this goal, you can bet Israel will attack. I would guess this could spark a global conflict involving many nations.
