In the past, it has been fair to call the US the greatest nation on Earth, as a result of a combination of freedom, prosperity, and Christianity. Today, the US is still by far the most powerful nation. But, because I am not a jingoist, I cannot any longer call America the greatest nation on Earth. Everything that made this nation great is in rapid decline.
