I think our first thought should be " Thank God he is safe and well ".
This brings to mind, what I'm sure many Parents have expirienced, when their child has, in the past, been a right little tinker in hiding from us when they hear everyone going frantic around them looking for them.
My Son did it twice and my heart was in my mouth i'm sure.
First time was when a salesman came to the door, told him I wanted no new windows, dog crept out so I thought I would leave him in the garden for a few minutes, left the door open for him to come back in, called Luke, no answer ( door was closed again by this time ).
Time period of all this must have been 3 minutes max but it seemed like 3 hours. Shouted for him again, no answer. My Father ran after the salesman
I'm running hysterically round the house doing nothing practical whatsoever when I spotted a tiny little blond head behind the veg rack in the corner.
Pulled it out and there was this little smiling face looking back at me.
He'd been listening to all this hysteria, thinking it all jolly good fun and very amusing
Second time he did it to me in a shop. Turned for seconds and WHOOSH, heeeeeeeee was OFF !
Spotted the blond knob again hiding with the he man figures.
Had him in those childrens handcuff things after that everytime we went out
But always, it is THANK GOD !
Then maybe,,,,grrrrrrrr
Nonetheless, even though I thank God this young man is safe, he isn't a child and should have known better. The police wasted valuable time that could have been spent looking for someone who was really in trouble.
Never be overwhelmed by decisions, just consider the right ones and your options will be far fewer.
