A passage came to mind as I was reading the above post, you might want to have a look at Isa 43.

Oh thank you eddybear that is such an empowering reading, I have bookmarked it and read it every time I falter. "Fear not, for I have redeemed you, I have called you by my name: You are Mine" The strength of His words are overpowering...."For I am the Lord your God..........." who would want to be for anyone else?

Thank you all my dearest friends it is a comfort, no more than a comfort, a crutch, to know that you are thinking and praying for David

I know that the Lord will look after him as His will be done, and I know that he had to go as it is his wish to help others, he has done the training, he has fought fires before. It's just that Tuesday seems so far away.
I have my dogs for company but most of all I have my Lord.
I will be on now everyday as I dont have to go to work until next Wednesday, and plenty of work to do here.

An update. David rang last night and he is OK. Heartily sick of take away food. The fire situation got a little better with a southerly change however there are still over 120 fires burning with them spotting kilometers ahead of the main blazes. They are quite close to Melbourne. The situation is expected to hold over the days that he is there but is to deteriorate (cant spell it) on Tuesday with hot winds and over 35 degrees. However he will be flying home on Tuesday and new crews go in. They have over 3,000 firefighters trying to hold it at the moment. I want to thank you all for your prayers, they are working.
The uncommitted people that may be reading this let me say as strongly as I can. Our Lord listens to our prayers, the only thing He requests is that we obey Him, follow His commandments, He will not forsake us.
If you dont do this you are on your own, and that is not a good place to be.
The Lord is my Shepherd so I will not fear

My dear friends
I have an urgent plea for you all to support me in a prayer for my husband.
He has been called to fight the fires in Victoria as they have flared up again and everyone down there is exhausted. I have been expecting this in the back of my mind for a couple of days now.
I know that I shouldnt worry as the Lord will be with him but I am still a little nervous for him.
Could you please all pray for his safe return on Tuesday, he is on his way home now to get ready to fly down there.

Dear Father In Heaven: I pray you place a hedge of protection on Moniques husband and all there loved ones.
Please comfort Monique and her Husband and may the Holy Spirit keep his hand of protection an them both.
