Mine would be a nice, sweet gala apple Steve.
This might be applicable to the UK only, but mine is Pink Lady, but they are rather expensive. Cripps Pink is a cheaper, but similar alternative.
At this time of year there is also Discovery in the shops,. I like this too - slightly sharp. But it's not around for long, Maybe it doesn't keep.
Are apples really very good for us? "An apple a day keeps the doctor away" is the old saying.

Never be overwhelmed by decisions, just consider the right ones and your options will be far fewer.
I like pink lady, but my favourite is a Braeburnquite crisp and sweet
Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me. ....................
My vote is for Braeburns as well, though I enjoy a nice ripe golden delicious for a change.
McIntosh is the only one worth eating, anything else belongs in sider or pie and don't get me started on pie
Hmmmmmmmm pies![]()

oH DEFO ! Anything that apples are in simply HAS to be eaten with custard !
None of this packet stuff that you mix with water mind you, proper custard.
My Son, when he was little, would never eat custard until he went to Canny's
Butttttttttttttttt, when he asked me to make custard and I did, he wouldn't eat mine
" Why won't you eat MY custard Luke ? "
" Cos it aint got lumps in like hers "![]()
