    My name is Jonathan and I'm glad to have found this forum. I've grown frustrated with the general internet discussion of faith, and this place looks like a nice cup of hot chocolate in from the cold.
    I was a little stymied by the first question I got hit with when joining, something like, "Do you take the the bible as the literal word of God written by infallible authors, or is it fallible, or undecided." A hard question with 3 checkboxes to answer. I'd like to characterize my acceptance of the bible as literate, rather than literal. The passage into the mind taken by language has changed in a few thousand years, and what was written for people of an earlier mindset has to be looked at for what it is, and I try to find the integral truth in the varied poetry of it's language.

    That's it for now. I just deleted about 10 lines more...too much information in a place where I'm new.
