    Default TV Gospel ??????????

Tv today is full of "Christian Propaganda"
What do you think as a Christian ? Is the gospel preached ? or is it as I beleive, generally not worth watching unless you try very hard and already know the speaker ?
Just your opinions please, no sermons or long loonnng post that are tiresome to read and when you have read them you don't know what they are on about.
    Thanks
Col 2:8 -10 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

I don't have lots of fancy channels and do not get the God Channel so do not see as much of Christianity on TV as some but from what I have heard it sounds to me as though there are a lot of people out there who are not always what they might at first appear to be.

I went to college and there were a lot of religion majors but we had a hard time getting a room for a Christian Bible Study while there were plenty of people who got rooms for other clubs. We had our bible study outside on the grass or on a bench in the cold in the middle of winter. So if we can't get Christians to come out to a Bible study in the cold then I'm wary of who does promote tv preachers. You almost have to be accepted by the world to be on tv:

Luke 6:26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

I would be wary of whom the world loves:

John 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

My extended family and friends of my wife say I'm not normal because I don't love the world:

1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things [that are] in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1 Peter 4:4 Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with [them] to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of [you]:

And I have a family member who says she thinks I'm evil because I say 'no' to sin.

I can't watch TBN or listen to a lot of people on radio or tv. One of the men on TBN doesn't even open the Bible because he is a motivational speaker.

This world belongs to the 'g'od of this world and the people on tv may be controlled by him:

2 Cor. 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

It says the whole world is deceived by him yet people are unwilling to identify wolves in sheep's clothing:

Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

One of the Christian internet blogging sites is pseudo-Christian with a lot of blogging articles attacking the Christian faith. There are a lot of people from the emergent Church attacking how we do church. I consider them Mickey Mouse.

You can get my local Christian station streaming on the internet for free:

These days, we have to be extremely careful of tv and Christian propaganda. There's tons of it. The other day I turned it to a gospel station and started watching a man who almost fooled me. I had to ask a relative and Google the man's name and I was astonished and saddened at the same time of what i discovered. Question everything is my advice.
Consider HIM who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lost heart.

There is nothing wrong with tv evangelism persay. Any medium that promotes the Gospel, whether that be tv, radio, internet, is just another way to get the Good News to the world.
But that is where I cease saying anything positive about it.
The main problem with any of those mediums is that, it is far more difficult to discern a wolf in sheep’s clothing than in person. I say " far more difficult " but not totally impossible, even when they quote Scripture.
satan knows and can quote Scripture, probably better than any of us, it's the perversion of how it's twisted that's the inherent danger.
These tv evangelists, ever thought about huge homes, luxurious cars, private jets, rolex watches, expensive jewelry and fancy clothes that probably cost more than some of us can earn in a life time ??
It's the " Health-Wealth " gospel that is nothing more than a perverse twisting of God's word.
Yes, God's word tells us we should give 1 Corinthians 16:2.
Yes, God's word tells us that those who give will be blessed by God 2 Corinthians 9:6 but the motives for giving is where these evangelists step over that line and twist God's words to such an extent, as to dupe so many people, that they may as well live by the mantra quoted by Barnum " there's a sucker born every minute ".
Those verses above are used by these evangelists to fool many people, some who probably give their last, to justify their luxurious life styles. It's nothing short of a perversion and the antics of Benny Hinn, for example, makes me want to vomit.
" Jesus can savvvvvvvvve you,,,,,, by the way, send me 100 dollars "
He's duping people into believing that those verses mean, we should give, so that God will Bless them.
Oh, he's using Scripture alright but he's stopping short of preaching that our motive for giving should be to glorify God and to share the blessings HE has given.
I would sit up and listen if they raked all this money in and lived in a tent ( ok, a tent is a bit extreme but you get my point ) and used this wealth to help feed the third world. At least that would be evidence of their fruits and putting those verses above into their " true " meaning.

Don't be fooled by them, they are " selling " God on a big fat lie ! They are selling God on the lie that it is God’s " desire " that they should spend all that money on huge manisons, luxurious limos and all the trimmings that could feed a starving African village for a month.
