Considering the fact, that God created evil; Isaiah 45-7 (KJV), created Satan Col. 1:16 (KJV) and placed a Garden in Eden, a garden that contained a tree, the fruit of which it is forbidden to eat, and then allowed Satan in the guise of a serpent access to the garden to tempt Eve into eating the fruit. Genesis. 2:8 (KJV). Is it possible that this was a set up to set in motion a chain of events that would culminate in what we see today? It is also interesting to note that when instructing Adam not to partake of the said fruit, God said that when he ate, not if he ate the fruit, he would surely die. We now, in a world that was, you might say, fashioned by the Eden project, are now offered rebirth in the Spirit to return us, through the second Adam (Jesus), to the condition of the first Adam before the fall. The first Adam willfully disobeyed, we, now seeing the consequences of his disobedience, have the opportunity to right the wrong and with grace given, choose friendship with God, a friendship that is genuinely chosen, rather that a friendship, that would, had the Eden project never occurred, been slavish and not true friendship at all..

I think your right Schooner, Satan, as well as being our adversary, is also a servant of God. He was used to prove Job, tempt Jesus, activate Judas and sift Peter and probably far more than that. He also causes us to be humble, by on occasions, causing us to sin. We gain our strength and authority by standing ground and resisting, so in this he is also valuable. He, as you say, gives choice. As Johnny Barr a gypsy evangelist once said; "People say that sin is orrible. It aint, it's nice overwise people wouldn't do it." So Satan gives fulfillment to the senses and God gives fulfillment to the spirit, a choice.

Hello Streetsinger, very nice to see you!
I agree that Gods plan for us, started way before creation. I believe Satan was created for this very purpose. In order that we would truly know our weaknesses and know how great our Gods love and mercy’s are.
I have a personal belief concerning this topic and it is ONLY a theory a possibility in my mind
After the creation I see a conversation between God and Satan, similar to what we see in Job.
God speaking to Satan, What do you think of the earth and man who I have created. Through him I will fill the heavens They will be my sons and I will be their Father
Satan reply, You have put man in a beautiful garden with all he needs and wants, just give him one rule, one law and I will show you, he will reject you. I will show you that man is un worthy to be your son. I will prove to you that your creation is worthless.
The Father wanting to share his love with us his children and Satan trying to steal us away.
Today we still have the same choice, reject God and listen to Satan or be children of the King
So, was it a set up? I don’t know. Was it all part of his plan?
Yes!
