    Default Pantha.

Many years ago, I was travelling on a coach back to Cardiff.
We were going through Hereford at the time and, being in a coach I had a much wider and higher veiw of the countryside than those travelling in cars.

I was thinking of nothing really, just admiring the countryside so it wasn't a case of " scotoma " ( the eye sees what the brain wants it to see ), I was thinking of nothing in particular.

All of a sudden, my eye caught something large and black and it was moving. Not slowly or particularly fast, just slinking along.
I use " slinking " deliberately. It was long and curved slightly in it's middle, very large with a longgggggg tail and jet black.

I suppose I watched it for all of 10 seconds so it wasn't exactly a fleeting glance.

I know it wasn't a dog, it was the wrong shape and neither did it move like a dog. Dogs don't have that inward curve in the center of their body.

I also know it wasn't a household, domestic cat. It was waaaay to big.

    So I know what I " didn't " see.

I can tell you what I " thought " it looked like. It looked exactly like a black pantha. I've looked at them in zoos, in pictures and on the net since and it's exactly the kind of animal I saw.

Anyone else like me and have no problem believing that there are big cats roaming the countryside ?
Never be overwhelmed by decisions, just consider the right ones and your options will be far fewer.
