Default Background to the Holy Laughter Movement

This report was done by a couple. The google listed the summary of the link as (per Roman Catholic Church) quoted below:

Feb 11, 2006 ... (per Roman Catholic Church). ... A recently issued doctrinal statement indicates that the Vineyard considers that Bible .... John Wimber has reiterated his belief that the holy laughter movement is a move from God, ...
Not that I found anything at that site as identifying the report as per Roman Catholic Church FYI.

But I do believe this site has given sufficient background on the event.

Background to the "Holy Laughter" Movement

As gibby's rallying cry: "Prove all things!" comes to mind: what say ye all?

I do not belong to a charismatic Church, I do believe laughter is holy in as much as it has been given to us as a gift,,, I would run a mile from forced laughter, I cannot give a scriptural reason why,,, my gut tells me, and I do not believe I would feel that way if it was a good thing.
Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me. ....................

Yet another disgraceful and deceiptful attempt to smear the Catholic Church Pariah.

Let's look at the context of the start of the quote you extracted:

    Under

    John Wimber

His theology appears to consist of:

    - Accepts use of relics for healing. (per Roman Catholic Church).

You extract out (per Roman Catholic Church) to head up some totally unrelated quotes.

I was referring to the summary given to the links, but since you spotted it in the article whereas I was looking for some rubberstamp of the RCC as officiating that link, thanks for spotting it.

There was even another link listed in the Google search that said the same summary and yet it was the same report.

    And you ignored my quote:

Not that I found anything at that site as identifying the report as per Roman Catholic Church FYI.
But I understand your need to smear me. Everybody knows of your pride in the RCC. I forgive you foir accusing me of deception.

I could share a reason why scripturally.

If temperance is self control which is a fruit of the Spirit; then why would God take away self control to give me something else?

Proverbs 25: 28He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.

1 Corinthians 14: 32And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. 33For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

I have a question about something and I don't know quite how to express it so I hope to express it in the best way I know how.

I've been watching a few clips of people supposedly falling in the Spirit and what is puzzling me is ( for want of a better phrase ), the "catchers " behind them.
Trying to find a good way of expressing this

The person falling is supposedly the recipient of the Holy Spirit at that moment in time, not the person catching them yes ?

How do these people catching them know who to stand behind ?

Even from their own promotional video, this looks like the Gift of Disorderly Conduct. At least disorderly conduct could be the charge if they were doing some of that stuff in a public place.

What is the tangible good that has come from this? Is Toronto a more Christian city after than before? ("Well, no...")
