I wish to understand then, who are these people

Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Yet Jesus tells them he never knew them, who are these people Jesus never knew? They call him by name, Lord, Lord. They prophesied and cast out devils, did they think they were saved?
Yep, they did, but because they did not heed His sayings nor did them, they were left behind to go through the great tribulation.

Did not God address seven churches in Revelation as clues were dropped about heeding Him or be cast into the bed of the great tribulation?

Doesn't Hebrews 12:1-29 hints of that time of seperation from God as a chastening from the Father?

Didn't Jesus taught excommunication and that He will leave the ninety nine to go after that one sheep that was lost?

Didn't Jesus taught His disciples the cost and that as He taught, so will He do when He starts building a house, He will finish it because He bought that house with a price and has His seal of adoption on that house, no matter how great the fall of it?

Didn't Jesus spoke of His sheep as following His voice and not a stranger's voice differentiating from those that follow a stranger's voice and then mentioned another fold that He must bring and THEN they will hear His voice and be of one fold and one shepherd? John 10

If Jesus said that no one is abe to pluck any out of His hands and that He will lose none, then how can anyone depart from faith in giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrine of devils? John 6:38-40 John 6:44 1 Timothy 4:1-2

Does it not explain how a vessel unto dishonour in God's House will be differentiated from the vessels unto honour in God's House when they are left behind at the rapture event?

Irregardless of the son leaving his sins scenario... the fact is the prodigal son is still son. Jesus will go get him, that lost sheep, and bring him back for He cannot deny Himself.

The glory of God in salvation in Jesus Christ will be seen even through the vessels unto dishonour for they were bought with a price and sealed as His for believing in Jesus Christ and although they will be weeping and gnashing their teeth, God will wipe the tears away from their eyes to weep no more.

The people referred to in Mat 7 v 22 are those who thought they were Christian because of their works. They were never saved by their faith.

1 Cor 3v11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

In the above verses we see individuals who have not lived a live which is pleasing to God. Their works will be burned up but they WILL be saved. IMO these are those who have been saved by faith but have backslidden or are away from God (ie the Prodigal son). They may not be living the life of a Christian at the time of the judgement but they ARE saved.

Jesus never knew them because of that work of iniquity of broadening the way mentioned in Matthew 7:13-15.

These are believers that were led astray as they were warned that false prophets will come in. If 1 Timothy 4:1-2 speaks of those believers falling away from the faith, then it stands to discernment with the help of God that believers losing themselves in these movement of the spirits where the focus is on the spirit whom they think is the Holy Spirit and not after Christ Jesus, 1 Corinthians 2:2 then we can see the broadening of the way mentioned in Matthew because they are going around Jesus in doing this work of iniquity: John 10:1 and placing the role of the Holy Spirit in the worship place when the Holy Spirit is in them to testify so as to glorify Jesus Christ in the worship place, they are made susceptible for a thief to break through to lose themselves in lying signs and wonders.

The focus should never be on receiving the spirit nor power nor a filling nor fire... but preaching Jesus Christ and him crucified so that those that believe may receive the promise of the Spirit by faith: Ephesians 1:12-15 Galatians 3:14 Galatians 3:26

Whenever something else is being glorified in the banner like the Toronto Blessings or the Pensacola Outpouring.... even done in His name.. the banner waving is not the name of Jesus Christ. To glorify something else in His name is serving not the Lord Jesus Christ.

So as some will depart from faith in serving something else in His name: they will be left behind, but because they believe, but labouring in unbelief, Jesus will finish His workmanship in those left behind for following a stranger's voice after which they will hear His voice and be of the one fold and one shepherd.

John 10:14I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. 15As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

I agree with most of what you are saying, but these words of Jesus are speaking about judgment "on that day" he is referring to judgment day. This is not something that happens before the rapture but, after

I also don't believe there will be a second chance, which is what you are saying. We are to have our lamp ready watching. We don't get a second chance to trim our lamps. We don't get a second chance to be ready. He comes like a thief, be ready.

Cross reference Matthew 7:13-27 and Luke 13:24-30 and you will see this referring to the Marriage Supper of sitting down with the Old Testament saints, hence this judgment occurs at the rapture as judgment must fall on the House of God first. 1 Peter 4:17

There is no "second chance" after the rapture event because that special inheritance cannot be obtained again at any other time. Once the doors are shut, the voice of the bride and bridegroom will no longer be heard in Babylon as mentioned in Revelation because that event can never happen again.

The prodigal son gave up his inheritance for wild living. When the father went to the fields to coax the loyal elder son in, the father explained that all that he has was his, but now this son that was lost has come home and it was time to celebrate. The prodigal son still did not have his inheritance, but the elder son did. We can only imagine what that means but that will be the difference between the vessel unto honour and the vessel unto dishonour being shown in God's House.

    2 Timothy 2:18-23

So yes... the call is to be ready. May we trust Jesus to have us ready and abiding in Him when He appears.

    Dear Pariah
The prodigal SOm was accepted back into the Father's house. The father said this MY SON is alive.

I agree he had no inheritance but he was saved ," though as by fire". All he had done wa sburned up and he had nothing to show for his salvation. He was like those who receive no reward at the judgement seat. But he had a ring of relation ship with the Father: He had shoes on hid feet, a standing in his fathers presence and was clothed in a garment provided by the Father ( Clothed in righteousness not his own)

    Dear Bloodbought,

I hoped I was not implying that the prodigal son was not saved, but that the inheritance of being a vessel unto honour in God's House was lost, thus becoming a vessel unto dishonour in God's House.

I was emphasizing that the loss will be so great that there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth that those left behind will need a miracle from God to get past that loss and that is by wiping away the tears from their eyes.

So for every believer out there that wishes to avoid that loss, the call is to be ready by looking to the author and finsiher of our faith in helping us run that race by ceasing from our works to rest in Him that we are His, keeping our eyes on Jesus to have that personal relationship with God the Father, and suffering as He strengthens us in that we have ceased from sin.

As in your nickname.... Bloodbought... so is every believer in Christ that we are His.

May we trust Jesus as Our Good Shepherd to keep us abiding in Him till He appears to be that vessel unto honour in God's House.

Default Is it true that once saved always saved? re.Prodigal son.

speaking personally (I am a prodigal son /daughter) I do believe that once saved always saved.

I was so far away from God when I came back home with my tail between my legs, figuratively speaking.
I was surprised..... and grappled with the fact that God was drawing me back to Him. If you are saved you will find the pull of the Father's / Shepards voice to be irresistible, even if you have turned away from Him and run away as far as you can go!!

I believe once saved always saved based on...

1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
(that ye may KNOW ye have eternal life. How can we that know Jesus Christ is our Loving Lord "unknow" Him? This verse is true of course as is all His Word. Those who truly believe in Him will be saved eternal!)

    1 John 2
18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

(If they had been of us, they wouldn't have left or leave, they were never of us. If there is another way to interpret those verses, please let me know and/or give me correction)

    Questions:

Can one be "unborn" again in the Spirit?

If we know the Truth, can we "unknow" it? (or wouldn't that be denying it and or blasphemy of the Holy Spirit?)

And the verses about..."a dog returning to vomit" and/or "I never knew you" seems would apply here too.

    Aye?

    God bless you's
Revelation 19:13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. † † †

    Amen, Wabco.

Ialso have been the prodigal son in so many different ways religiously and carnally, but the Lord delievered me out of them all and is keeping me from falling to present me faultless to His glory as a vessel unto honour.

May you and I both share the testimony of these words:

    Psalm 23 & Psalm 100:3
