Should the age of consent be lowered?

The age of consent varies wildly across the USA. What is legal in one State, is taboo in another.
In the UK, despite having a fixed legal age of consent, there are hundreds of young girls below that age, becoming pregnant every year, and many more who are sexually active.
Is it time therefore, to consider lowering the age of consent?
Would we be ushering in a new age of wanton decadence and sexual free-for-all, or are we just hiding our heads in the sand, and deploring the obvious?

Absolutely not..

If the relationships between the parents of these girls and boys were as it should be then the parents would be teaching correctly about the safe practices of sex.

I am not stating that parents should know every move but that if they set the kids guidelines to follow and if they start to break them then you know
the kids might be doing something they aren't supposed to.

Example know who their friends are. Try to build a relationship with their friends. When they want to go out tell them to be at a certain time..if they start to not do that..let them know that they can't be trusted gently.
Let them know that you want to be friends with your kids.

Every once in awile when time aloows let the kids if it is in your means to allow a few friends over for dineer and maybe to do some things with them.

If you act like the responsible adult and at the same token act like your kids friend you would be very surprised how close you will be bonded and they will follow your examples.

Let them know there is nothing that you both can't discuss openly together.


But as far as lowering the age of consent that would be the worse thing in the world that could happen.

It should be adults having babies...not babies having babies.

This is sometimes a bone of contention with me,, you cant drive until you are 18, smoke, drink,,,you can have sex at the age of 16 (I think),, you cant vote until you are 18................... and yet, you can be called to die when you are 16, even before you have the vote,, thats a bit odd in the UK. IMO

In the Epistles apostle Paul says something about not reasoning like a Child. But we should be GOD set minded and mature thinking when it comes to the important things of life


GOD himself did not want his own Son to be without parents. Not that Jesus would have sinned but it is a full family unit. . Both Christians and Non Christians should know how to raise their kids. Don’t lower ages of consent as a child thinks like a child. Parents do your part and teach and correct.

erm,, so what is the age of consent in the US please ? raising kids not nothing to do with it,, in this country a child as I said is not allowed to vote ,, and yet can be called up to war... ( I think that still stands )

They can join at 16 Canny but aren't sent to the front line until 18.
Should the age of consent be lowered ?
No, in my opinion it should be raised back to 21 again.

The legal drinking age is 21 in the US but you can hop over the boarder to Canada and drink at 18.
We at the present time no longer have a draft for military service.
You can vote at 18. Believe it or not some of the youth Know lot more about the political items then older people.

I must be old school because I believe it should be only after marriage.
You can be tried for a crime as and adult at 15. And get a death sentence.
But what was said earlier most laws are in individual States.
You can have a aborition at just about any age without parental consent, there has been many cases of school teachers taking young girls to abortion clinects to have abortions and never inform anyone.
Capitol punisment is an individual state decision. I will state that I support the death sentence depending on the crime. I was a Jury member for a mafia crime and it was sick, one man got aquitted for his testimony, and he had killed 27 people. The Mafia is very strong here in Buffalo.

Here in the United States there is the law of minority which is means the age of a minor. A minor in the USA is 18 and younger. The law is any person under the age of 18 must live with adult supervision.
The parents therefore are responsible for their child’s actions till that Child reaches 18 years old..

If the minor under 18 is found not living with an adult supervisor the police will contact the minors parents why the child is not Living at home for who you are responsible to take care of..

In some cases there are run away children who go to live with their friends.

Police are not usually watching cases like this however. They are watching crime like stealing Drugs violence etc.

Therefore most runaways can get away if no one reports them missing as far as age of consent goes The Worldly human secular are not usually harsh on their kids about this.

They know their kids are having sex. But they won't tell them to stop.

However a Christian who reads the Bible knows what The Lord says. Sex without marriage is Fornication. GOD wants people to be married first. This is where the parents come in to teach their children to wait.

Apostle Paul says it is better to be alone like I am. But Paul admits it is a gift. He however says if you desire with passion for one another then it is better to get married.

Just as GOD wanted Joseph to stay with Mary and marry her just the same GOD wants men and women to get married before any kid of sex that pertains to the genitals.

Ok I failed on this one a long time ago. I have been with lots of women. But it was not right in the Eyes of GOD. I went from one bed to another bed from relationship to another relationship.

I Lived in Sin. But now with Anna we are together. We are not married. But we are celibate. We only kiss on the lips cuddle and hold hands. Nothing beyond that cause we are not married. Because I have sinned in the past of fornication I now tell you it was wrong Cause GOD said it is wrong as an alcoholic person for example if that person had a drinking problem and became sober. That person teaches others the bad thing about Drinking and not to make the same mistake..

And I the same telling you not to make the same mistake or rather what GOD calls Sin..

We as Christians are aliens in this world and as such, should not be involving ourselves in its business. As Jesus said the prince of this world is Satan and he will have his way in his domain. Our purpose is to enlighten people to the presence of the kingdom of heaven where the legal requirement is marriage.
