I realise this is a hugely sweeping statement but I think basically people are self centred and are more concerned with what immediately affects them and do not consider the wider good and the longer term.

Politicians play to this and effectively “bribe” people with goodies and promises of more. Yesterday’s pre-budget report is a good example. Also people are kept happy and distracted with “bread and circuses” – television & sport as an opium of the masses.

I think you are right with option D – we don’t do politics as Christians. We probably vote for a party without having a clue as to whether the candidate has Christian values.

Sadly also when people in power are supposed to be Christians they seem to have left their Christian values behind. Tony Blair is a Christian, as is Gordon Brown and Margaret Thatcher to name but three prime ministers. Brown actually talks about his “moral compass”, but if he has one it seems to swing wildly around.

Steve as far as I can see the people you have mentioned are church goers. They are not true Christians. ie Not born Again.

By their fruit you shall know them.

    Question

Are any of us interested or involved in politics on this site.

How did you approach being involved.? this is not a dig because I believe that some Christians are; including MPs, as we know from the Christian media.

    answer; A.
I would say people don't bother voting because they get cynical, and moan about who is in power.....but this doesn't make sense.....if you don't like who is in power politically, Vote!!

So, we all need to vote. Suffragettes and all that...
