Owners will be forced to install the microchip containing a barcode that can store their pet's name, breed, age and health along with their own address and phone number.
The barcode's details would then be stored on a national database which local councils could access in a bid to easily identify an owner’s pet.

The chip, said to be the size of a rice granule, is implanted into the pet either behind the ears or between the shoulder blades.
Experts say the procedure is relatively painless for the animal and is over in a matter of seconds.

Test it out on dogs. Get the computer recognition and tracking sorted out.

Then do it on children "for their own safety" to help when they are kidnapped or lost.

No need to do it to adults. Children grow up and in a couple of generations you have the whole population microchipped and bar coded.

The world of "big brother" is arriving and not just as a tacky TV show.

Already looks to be being utilized for healthcare in some areas for health care...

(Below cited from Verichip Website Link Below - A manufacturer of the microchip for healthcare)

    VeriMed Health Link

"Health Link is the connection between you and your personal health record. Health Link utilizes a tiny, passive microchip (the nation’s first and only microchip cleared for patient identification by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration) and a secure, private online database that links you to your personal health record. Your Health Link is always with you and cannot be lost or stolen. It provides emergency room doctors and nurses with your vital medical and emergency contact information, allowing them to treat you rapidly, accurately and safely during an emergency.

    The Health Link microchip

What you need to know about Health Link:

    • Health Link allows ER doctors and nurses immediate access to your personal health record and emergency contact information during an emergency.

    • ER doctors and nurses use Health Link as a tool to help treat you rapidly, accurately and safely based on your current medical information.

    • Your personal medical and emergency contact information is easily updated through Health Link’s secure, online database." About the size of a grain of rice, the microchip is inserted just under the skin and contains only a unique, 16-digit identifier. The microchip itself does not contain any other data other than this unique electronic ID, nor does it contain any Global Positioning System (GPS) tracking capabilities. And unlike conventional forms of identification, the Health Link cannot be lost, stolen, misplaced, or counterfeited. It is safe, secure, reversible, and always with you.

A microchip would not actually record much information about you. It would simply be an ID tag. The information would be recorded in a computer database kept by the government.

Microchips in humans might soon become an obsolete idea. Computer software can easily recognize faces. For Big Brother, the only catch is that you can easily obscure your face, even without trying to hide. I see the time coming when computer recognition will become so good that you will have to go to a lot of effort to obscure your face (and body). Obscuring your face will at first become illegal in government buildings and schools, then in public places. If the camera in the store does not recognize you, you will not be able to buy anything. If the camera on the sidewalk does not recognize you, expect a cop to be tapping you you on your shoulder in a few minutes, where he will judge whether you are committing felony evasion or if the problem is inadvertent.

Thats been going on for quite some years to a certain extent. My Husband many moons ago, on his way home from work on a bycle, stopped off at a shop just to grab a loaf of bread. He had his cycle helmet on and because it was a cold night he had a scarf around his face. It would have taken him longer to remove the scarf and helmet than it did to grab the loaf and pay for it.
The security guard told him to remove both the helmet and the scarf because his face couldn't be seen on camera. My Husband was quite willing to pull down the scarf as he could see the logic in it but was told no, the helmet had to come off to.
As he was about to argue the point, a muslim woman walked in with her face covered and he said, he was quite willing to obey the rules if the same rule was applied to the woman for the same logical reasons.

It couldn't have done because his remark went unanswered, she wasn't told the same thing and he was asked to leave the shop unless he followed the rule.

Talk about one law for one and another law for another
Never be overwhelmed by decisions, just consider the right ones and your options will be far fewer.
