when I go to scripture, and I get what I get from it,, and people argue with translations and meanings and writing of respected men,,, how do I know what I get is what is right ?

Robert, I got a question

when I go to scripture, and I get what I get from it,, and people argue with translations and meanings and writing of respected men,,, how do I know what I get is what is right ?

First you should always pray for guidance and wisdom from the Holy Spirit, then don't pay much attention to what others say, try finding two or three other scriptures that would be inline with what you have read. You can also compare other bible translations and see if the scripture is saying basically the same thing. There is great sites on the internet that you can cross reference different translation.
