I love this verse Robert. You have heard the old story about a committee, that was appointed to draw a picture of a horse. After hours of deliberation, they came up with a picture of an elephant. The point here is that men can complicate almost anything, if given only half a chance. Men have even complicated the Bible-God’s Word. Thank God that his Word endureth forever, and will stand pure and perfect regardless of men’s efforts to cause otherwise. The simplicity of God’s Word is wonderful as indicated in the following verses:

Psalms 116:6 The LORD preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.
Psalms 131:1 LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.
Psalms 119:130 The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.
Matthew 11:25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.
Luke 18:17 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.
Romans 16:19 For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.
Psalms 131:2 Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child.

Jesus said, "I am the light of the world. People that follow me will not walk in the dark. They will have the light of life". (John 8:12.)
Psalms 27 is about the ups and downs of life. Verse 1 is about the ups of life."The Lord is my light" means many things. One is that he shows us what to do in life. "The LORD is my hiding place" means that when trouble comes the LORD will be with us in it. He will give us help to live through it, he will not leave us by ourselves.
