I so feel like crying...kind of yes....the bible is a record of events more or less yes? as such affects our Christian walk..yes? or at least i would hope so as its catchphrase...Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth...
Sooo to also say its impossible for any man to accurately record any event without slanting it basically with their own theology, could very well cast doubt on the 'events' wrote about in the bible, its hard enough getting people to see the 4 Gospels have slightly different versions of what happened, due to the fact they are witness accounts, therefore have 4 different angles of that witnessing to understand and accept. I really cant explain no more to be honest, and really it wasnt that much of a big point in first place, however it was a point or something i picked up on, and was merely commenting on.
I really should keep out of theology, but it was something that for whatever reason stuck out to me, so will leave it there, hope people see where i was coming from now, if not oh well hey ho, i am soo stepping out of theology mode.

Rach, yes, Men do make mistakes but in this case, it wasn't slanting it with their own theology, as God controlled what these human authors wrote by His Holy Spirit.
2 Peter 1:21
" For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. "
Never be overwhelmed by decisions, just consider the right ones and your options will be far fewer.

Just one point concerning the 4 Gospels ,in the prophets prior to Jesus,earthly ministry we have CHrist prophesied as "The Branch"
for example in Zechariah 6:12 it says Here is the "Man " whose name is the branch
Jeremiah 23:5 , Jeremiah 33:15 says I will raise up to David a righteous branch
Isaiah 4:2
Isaiah 11:1
These 4 branches describe our Jesus as King ,Servant , man ,and Son of God
Each of the 4 Gospels also describe Jesus as King , Servant Man ,and Son of God
ie Matthew -King
Mark-Servant
Luke- Man
John - Son of God
So the 4 Gospels do not contradict ,but ,when combined show the 4 characteristcs of Christ /The Branch
The beautiful thing about scripture is the way you can follow the threads that entwine His word ,from genesis through to revelation ,links and references that span His Word ,and the intricacies of The truth of His Word

I wonder about the law of averages, if you kiss a bone and what you prayed for happened, would it be what you prayed for, or kissing a bone ? I think there is no way of knowing,, other than
Everyone kisses the bone and what they pray for happens. It's most likely God says yes to a few, who just happen to kiss a bone, attributing it to kissing a bone I find very erm,, well ok,,,,, wierd !!!!!! ... IMO of course.
What I would say about it is, with all these things, it draws prayer in an intense way, and it is only prayer that is responded too.

I think this is why it is important to go verse by verse. You cover all of the Bible so those verses which seem to contradict really help you iron out the misunderstandings because God's word illuminates, gives revelation and inspiration so the Holy Spirit can lead you into all truth.

God hand picked those He wanted to represent Him and He directed them.
Moses misrepresented God but scripture also reproves that mistake and shows us that it was a mistake.
I don't think you should find any problems because God's word comes with illumination, revelation and inspiration.
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction (it sets upright), for instruction in righteousness:
Scripture is for correction and it sets upright the man or woman of God.
What we all learn in Sunday School is "What is sound doctrine?" If you see it taught in the Gospels, if you see it explained in the epistles and if you see it practiced in the book of Acts and if there is an old testament reference then it can be sound doctrine. Those who can't do that don't have sound doctrine and don't know their Bible.
This thread is worth bumping up in my opinion.
