What about you? Have you encountered people who just don’t care about religion, and if so, how did you respond? Is there value in training traditional apologists when many non-Christians could care less about their well-reasoned arguments?

If you have dark sunglasses on, what will you see? You will only see darkness. Apologetics won't do you any good because 'every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light'. Show someone that hateth the light a reason to believe and they will hate still:

John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
John 3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
John 3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.


Matthew 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

Apologetics doesn't save anyone.

Jesus said that people will know we are his disciples if we love one another. Actions speak louder than words.

Dear Laterunner,what we always must remember is that when a christian becomes born again ,a new creature in Christ ,it is they who become outsiders ;for want of a better word ; and the atheist /agnostic/unbeliever are part of the "world " so in the economy(cosmos) of the earth where satan is still the prince ,then we should expect nothing different .

Again scripture will explain as in Romans 1 how and why they are as they are ,but all we can do is preach the foolishness of the "Gospel" and , get rid of that book .

Your right Onesiphorus, we are from another realm and function under different rules. The world functions under law, "Thou shalt, thou shalt not" and suffer the guilt of failure, the elect however are no longer under law, but under grace, they have been set free from the yoke of slavery and now rest in the knowledge that they are covered by the blood of Christ and the angel of death passes over the blood. Under the blood, there is no condemnation and all things work to the good giving the believer the grace to grow in rest.

Religion is IRRELEVANT.

That is why the church in the west is in such a mess. We are not called to talk about or prove religion.

We are to promote/ preach Christ crucified and be witnesses to Jesus Christ. People can argue about belief systems or interpretations of the Bible. They can not disagree with a person experience of Christ.

Surely, religion per se is nothing to do with God ? Religion is man made, man did not create God. A belief in God is beyond religion.

Sorry to be pedantic, but religion, to me is more about the guy with the funny hat or having the " supposed " ear of God, making up the rules for you and it's about buying into someone elses notion of God ( or indeed gods ) and contains human flaws.

Religion is " any " belief system surely ? Or indeed a non belief system ?

In my opinion, the question is very often more important than the answer and maybe should have been " Have you encountered people who just don't care about Christ ? "

To create is not just thinking things into life.

Man's environment is finely tuned to his survival, eg.change the H, the 2 or the O some degrees & we are kaput. We as humans usually have an innate sense of justice & what is right & what is wrong. eg. the understandable disgust, anger & embarassment we have with our government.
