| Howdy sis & bros in Christ I wanted to please ask for guidance & thoughts on some things. I've put it under evangelism, as I think it kinda relates to this. Please feel free to move it, if need be! haha Anyone who feels lead to respond, thank you very much No wrong answers, I'll be grateful for any input or guidance. So question: How do you feel lead as christians - that we post His Word and/or scriptures or different things we've learned or are learning from Him, on our Facebook or YouTube or My Space, etc? (Things not typically a christan site like this, etc) Is it too forward of a way of hopefully/prayerfully letting others see His Word so they know His Truth? (For instance on my FB, I have several people who are family who would rather not talk about Jesus Christ/His Word) But I know that like myself before reading more, I didn't know so many of the awesome things He has said -all Truth! And I know His Word says that faith comes by hearing the message and the message is heard through the Word of Christ. (Romans 10:17) So I've wanted to share things on His Word as much as possible. I also have those things on FB, etc because I love Him so much and His Word too. I need His Word, for every day life. And also because I struggle alot with my "feelings" and need to get away from that and trust in His Word, and not what my "feelings" say when I'm struggling with something, or a verbal attack from unbelievers, also. And of course to witness His Word, what it says. I realize we are all as we are lead by God, and in different ways with different gifts He gives us. There are ways to witness, as in caregiving, charities, loving others. And when they ask, be ready to testify of His love & Truth. I guess I've always felt lead to share His Word, more than anything. As its SO awesome and reveals so much about our lives! However, does anyone believe that it could be too "In your face"? Is it at all "vain"? Could it be too pushy for any other non-believers on FB that I may have? Or how does the Lord lead you in those instances? Do you wait for someone to ask a question? Do you think its too pushy to have those things on FB, etc? Any encouragements and words of wisdom would be grealy appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this and God bless you! ![]() ![]() Or.. if you have any suggestions or.. if you want to share on how have been lead to witness the Truth of Jesus Christ, that would be great! I'm asking to see if I need correction, and also I'm asking to also see other's viewpoints and get guidance through perhaps elders experiences, etc.

| My thoughts on the subject are that if you feel led by God and it sits well with the scriptures then you should witness where He leads you. Personally, I find that very gentle witnessing gets the best results but that is only my opinion and I know there are those who think differently. You need to spend plenty of time in prayer and ask for guidance, plan what you would like to do then ask God for confirmation that this is what He would have you do. If you are working under God's instruction then you won't go far wrong.

| You can put anything you want on your page but my question is, "Are you going to give them the gospel?" If we don't then we're just wasting our time. |

| My personal approach is a gentler one, because I don't like being "in your face" (although there is enough on my Facebook page for people to know that I am a Christian). But every time I type something advocating that, I don't feel that's the right thing to advise. God uses us in different ways, and if you feel that that is the way he has called you to witness to others, then go for it. My one word of caution would be Jesus' instruction "Don't throw your pearls before pigs." Some things about our walk with Christ are too personal to be shared except among Christians we trust, and sometimes not even that much (e.g. it may be something to share only with a believing spouse). These treasures are too precious to be trampled on. |

Personally, i don't go straight in in times like that. I do the listening bit first. So many people don't apprieciate that " just " listening is so important. Maybe thats why, in times of worry and trouble, so many people find prayer so effective. Because God is mute to all intents and purposes, he listens. He offers no advice, he just listens. So, so often thats all people want, is someone to listen to them at first. I then ask gentle questions to encourage more talk, just enough for me to gauge what the persons spiritual state of mind is and so often, with just listening, then gentle encouragement, the talk very often gets round to God without them really knowing how it got there. But as I say, sometimes I know when it's important to keep my mouth firmly shut and just listen as we can sometimes inflame the situation and even thought intentions maybe good, opening our mouths at the wrong time to the wrong person can make the gap between them and God even wider. One such time was when my very dear friend died on her Son's 18th birthday. i am his Godmother and one Christian said, ( quite insensitively in my opinion ), " oh you know, right now may be a good time to talk about Jesus and tell him how good he is ". That to me is using this tragic situation to get someone when they are down. My answer was,,, " Oh right ok, so this young man who has just lost his Mother on his 18th birthday,,, what shall we say,,, oh yeah, ok, your'e Mother has just died but hey, he's good " 18yr old angry kid, just lost his Mother, right, yeah, I can see how that would go down ![]()
