God's voice & the Spirit within me

Amen. It's a flow of spontaneous thoughts flowing through your mind, don't you think so Canny?

I can tell you all two instances.

1. I came back home after school one day and as I was tired I just lay on my bed and switched on the ceiling fan on full speed. Then I heard my mom calling me and got up and ran to her upstairs, as she was pregnant. When I reached her, she said she did not call me. Just then we heard a loud noise downstairs and when I went down to check, I found that the ceiling fan had come off the ceiling with the hook and fell right on my bed, tearing the mattress. Had I been on the bed I would have been hurt. Well who called me in my mom's voice?

2. We had permanent hired cabs which used to pick us from home to school and bring us back home after school. Our cab guy would come down the road below my home. My sister, brother and I would go down the road and wait the cab. Sometimes I used to sit on a culvert at the junction below the road. One day I was sitting on this culvert. The others were standing nearby where the cabs stops for us. The same thing happened. I heard my sister call me. I got up to go to her. I heard a big bang, like an explosion. I turned back and saw a truck slammed into the culvert, pulverizing the culvert. Had I been on the culvert I would have been seriously hurt, if not dead. My sis hadn't called me. Who did?

Canny : Yes that was diffently the Lord giving you a message, most of time it's just a feeling down inside you, I don't know how many people were on the bus but God chose you because he knew you have a kind loving heart. For me I've felt a sense of uneasyness inside and that has told me not to do something I was about to do. Don't give credit to being embarassed or criticized, just do what you believe is what God wants, to ask is this you God is good thing. But what is more important is God says obedience is better than sacrifice in this case you did both. Do you know you might have saved this ladies life or maybe from getting beaten and robbed. I know having a kindness and loving heart can sometimes cause emotional pain but don't give up. I just want to suggest that there is some good programs to read through the Bible in a year and it only takes about 10 mins. a day. Also if you can get alone were no one can bother you when you read and pray to the Lord to guide you. Canny you may not believe me , but I can feel the presence of the Lord right know as I wright.Through the computer as I wright. You have a stong presence of the Holy Spirit surrounding you. God must have a very special calling on your life. God Bless You,

Canny : I just want to suggest that there is some good programs to read through the Bible in a year and it only takes about 10 mins. a day. Robert

I think we are all reluctant to post here (well, I am -what's new, lol) with our experiences. We all have different experiences of the Spirit, of God , of Jesus. They are all personal to us.
I was crying in prayer once (only once?!? ) about something, and just being honest with God , and I heard an audible whisper in my right ear (it made me jump) saying "I'm sorry." It was a youngish mans voice.



-OK, I know that sounds


I have also heard a whisper, a "still small voice of God", but that has been an internal voice, not external. Only once have I heard an "external" voice, since being a christian as I have described above.
I think the best way God speaks to us is thru the Bible. For me anyway

Well I am sorry to say that I sincerely believe that God doesn't speak in an audible voice anymore. A spoken word in the conscious or subconscious mind will sound audible to a person but actually is only a thought.
We get a spontaneous flow of thoughts through the Holy Spirit. We will know that, when it happens.

And frankly speaking this aspect is misused and taken advantage of, by many people. They use this to get about the way they want to and also mislead masses. And also is it necessary to use, the phrase, "God spoke to me in an audible voice"? Wouldn't, "God spoke to me suffice?"

I am sorry Wabco, I am not accusing you, but that is my belief.

I am not sure we even know it when it happens, going about our daily business and finding myself drawn to do something or go somewhere seems to occur to me afterwards, because I usually don't want to go or do whatever it is I am being told to do. (does that make sense)

On the occasions I have been nudged the outcome has been relief for someone who was not expecting it,,, Now I am going to have to retract that first statement because I may start to listen and then I will know
