There was no argument: "Can", "Can't", "Can", "Can't".

Revelation 13:15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

I think it's quite important to remember that satan and his angels never created anything, nor " will " they creat anything. They will not be allowed to continue to live. They will be destroyed and they will have an end.

Satan has never had the same power, and it is clear from the Scripture that the evil angels literally shook with fright when they confronted Christ while He was on the Earth.

    Luke 4:33-35

    Matthew 8:28-29

    James 2:19

    My question of...

Surely, satan has no power persay, he only has the power we give him ?

arises from the story of Job, in that he is forced to consider, from an earthly point of view, why all sorts of bad things are happening to him and the impression is given that satan's ownership of the earth depends upon everyone being subject to satan's leading.
It appears to me that this war between God and satan depends upon the allegiance of people. If Job continues to follow God then God has the advantage, on the other hand, if Job listened to his wife and friends and cursed God, then satan would have had the advantage.

One thing I would like to know is, is Scripture silent on the subject of what satan did to the angels to have them rebel against God? What did he say to them that would make them fight against God Himself?

I wonder if that will change:

2 Thessalonians 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

2 Thessalonians 2:9 [Even him], whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

Matthew 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

    He dragged them to punishment.

Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

Revelation 12:4 And his tail drew (syrō) the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

    Blue Letter Bible - Lexicon

    1) to draw, drag
    a) of one before the judge, to prison, to punishment

Oh yes Cat, he is powerful and should never be underestimated but his power only depends upon the allegiance of people.
