Us humans are a rather emotional lot and it's to do with that really. Quotes such as " I wear my heart on my sleeve ". The heart is very often connected with Love. It just means really, let love live in you're heart.

We see so much of it on cards, especially around Valentines day, nothing but hearts.

BTW, piece of usless information,, St Valentine, patron saint of epilepsy sufferers.

Holman HUnt also took inspiration to paint his " Light of the world " from “Behold I stand at the door and knock.”. Infact he painted two. One hangs in St Pauls Cathedral and the other in Cambridge university. If you google the painting, look at the door Jesus is knocking on, it has no handle on the outside, meaning he knocks but you have to let him in from the inside.

The handle thing, if you didn't know it was there ( or not there ), is a typical example of " hidden in full view ".

Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Romans 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

1 Corinthians 2:10 But God hath revealed [them] unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

Romans 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

1 Cor. 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and [that] the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

How does a man believe with his heart? I believe it is scriptural.

Jesus also said 'I stand at the door and knock, anyone who opens the door, I will come in to eat and drink with him' This would indicate more than confessing and repenting. To confess our sins is to simply say what we have done, to repent is to turn around and walk away in the other direction - sometimes this is not possible with only our human will, on some occassions we need the Holy Spirit to give us His help.

Galatians 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

This verse settles it for me.

I believe Cat was asking was the actual phrase " let Jesus into you're heart ", Scriptural.

If not then I stand corrected Cat

Galatians 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

God has sent forth.far shout from us asking Jesus.

how many times is abba father in the new testament.?this makes perfect sense being Christ is a double edged sword.

the bible is written to diffrent people for diffrent reasons,3d as they say in the film world.also the main reason Christians argue.
