You can delete the history and cookies in any browser very easily.

The mode where firefox won't permanently save temporary files is actually a security feature. What most people don't realize is that those "encrypted" web forms leave completely unencrypted information on your hard drive. All an attacker has to do is inject malicious code to steal all of that information that is just lying around unencrypted. Think about that the next time you buy online...

In another example: someone can go to college to party and have sex, so lets all not go to college, because it's an evil place...

I have firefox and internet explorer my son said firefox is faster, but I don't see a difference, but I'm not to sharp on all this stuff.

However what you are talking about I read in the news, but they were saying it has to do with Facebook more than anything else, all I know is I enjoy Facebook but it freezes allot.

To me if you have and temtation problem with porn as I use to have you can get it on any browser you use.

I personally know porn is a sickness like Cancer and I have to be carefull to stay away.

This thread is old and was wrong to begin with. Firefox does not have a "porn mode", it has a privacy mode, as do the others. If someone does not want to use a browser with a privacy mode, that person would have to use an old/bad browser.

Some people value their privacy, even if they are not doing anything wrong.

There really is no difference in speed between browsers. Unless you have an old computer, your bottleneck is the Internet itself. If you run a some internet-based software then you might notice some speed differences.

Sorry but sometimes I can be a bit thick! Are you saying that if I use firefox and also buy online that I may be leaving myself wide open to theft?

    Galaen:

In general yes, but you are open to theft any time you use a credit card or give any information. When you give your credit card to waitstaff at a restaurant and they take it to the back to charge it, how do you know they didn't write down the number and security code? What about someone who sees a job application around that has your SS number? Any non-encrypted storage of credit card numbers on a customers computer OR a companies systems leaves these numbers exposed. These threats cannot be avoided entirely. The only thing anyone can do is mitigate the risk. Deal with reputable online retailers only, delete temporary files often (every week or more often), if there is EVER a non-encrypted (must be https as opposed to http) online form asking for a credit card number, SS number, etc. do not enter one; Your information will go over as clear text and can be intercepted by anyone along the path that data traverses.

Just take any precaution you can such as deleting temporary files often, running virus scans and keeping your definitions up to date and enabling heuristics for 0-day threats, dealing with reputable companies, checking credit card statements for anomalous purchases, etc and you *should* be alright.

I would recommend using Firefox over Internet Explorer and chrome because of Firefox's security features. Suffice it to say that while chrome has some good security advancements numerous security flaws have already been found in Google chrome and Internet Explorer is plagued by them. I can find some web sources if anyone is interested in further reading.
