To be fair though, I suppose it's all about defining " need " and " want " and who we are talking about.
What I mean is, we don't physically need a television, radio, PC ect ect but for many, many people living on their own, maybe disabled, no family, few visitors and rare opportunities to leave the home, the need " could " apply.
I bet there are many, many such people who, without the sound of a voice from a radio or television or chatting to people on their PC as maybe it's their only link to the outside world, would be cut off completely and live in total despair.
Never be overwhelmed by decisions, just consider the right ones and your options will be far fewer.
