It's like if she buys anything in the sales ( whether she needs it or not is beside the point ), think of all the money she is saving you !

I found this prayer of contentment in Proverbs:

"Two things I ask of you, O LORD;
do not refuse me before I die:

Keep falsehood and lies far from me;
give me neither poverty nor riches,
but give me only my daily bread.

Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you
and say, 'Who is the LORD ?'
Or I may become poor and steal,
and so dishonor the name of my God." Proverbs 30:7-9 NIV

It gives good reason to ask for only our daily "bread" (or those things we NEED and NOT what we want. If we can joyfully say this prayer, it would be a clear indication that we CAN be content with what we have.
