Default Can christians be favoured by both man and God?

I often think that it doesn't matter how much we show sincere love, kindness and genuiness to others, that we are going to be hated and despised. Especially when this if from the Spirit of Christ.

For the world treats the sweet aroma of God with contempt. 2 Corinthians 2: 14-16 1 Peter 2:4

Jesus was despised and rejected, and many messengers and great people of the bible and great people of God have been hated, ill treated, and put to death.

Yet in many ways they can be loved as well. The crowds also flocked to Jesus.

It says in the bible, that Samuel was favoured by both man and God, 1 Samuel 2:26

This was at the time of Eli's household and when the Ark of God was captured.

Therefore do you think that christians can be favoured by man and God, without compromising their faith?

Do you think that it depends on the culture of the people we are surrounded by and how much they accept God and His Word?

Do people show inconsistencies as well due to the enemy's influence?

IMO Christians should be walking a Godly life ........... we are not here to conform to the world Romans 12:1-3
We must first seek God and honour Him, if the world does not like that then it's not us that they dislike, but God.
The Problem with the christians is that they don't walk close enough to God, many want God, but also want a bit of the world in their lives. Matthew 6:32-34
The world is getting further away from God ..... but so are the christians.

I agree and are we man pleasers or God pleasers? Galatians 1:10

Therefore do we gratify the desires of the flesh and conform to the world, or do we submit to the Spirit of God. Galatians 5:16-24

I can be led astray sometimes through the flesh and then have to be reminded to be humble before God.

I know I keep repeating myself. Only it is obvious that God wants us to humble ourselves to Him.

If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

When we come to the cross of Jesus are we willing to surrender ourselves to Him completely, every thought, attitude, motive, word, and action.

Are we willing to surrender even every opinion that has sentiment for us on a personal level, tradition or culture, or gives us identity and therefore is upholding values and pride of the flesh.

Are we willing to nail this to the cross and even things that make us popular with others.

In exchange for the truth from Christ, and coming into a relationship with Him, or coming closer to Him. We may lose other people who were with us or drawn to and because of our flesh. Only how much more do we love Jesus and surely its better to have His truth and to have Him.

Christ said: " If anyone wants to come after me, let him deny himself take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his own life? Or what shall a man give in return for his life? " Matthew 16:24-26

Are we giving ourselves to Christ and on His Rock asking for His grace to make us the people He created us to be and do what He called us to do.

Are we putting the deeds and attitudes of the flesh to death. Romans 8:7-10
Are we imitators of God, as beloved children. Do we walk in love as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. Let there be no filthiness, nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving. Ephesians 5:1-4

For when we live by the flesh, we are vulnerable to falseness and to being led astray by the prince of the power of the air, that works through the children of disobedience. Ephesians 5:6-10 Ephesians 2:1-5

Therefore submitting to the Spirit of God and hearing and obeying the Word of God, will lead us to the truth in walking with Him. Matthew 7:24-27 James 1:22-26

The Word of God is truth, 2 Timothy 3:16 and has priority over everything. The Word of God exposes the doctrines of man. For submitting to the Spirit of God will illuminate the scriptures to us, and lead us to all truth. John 16:13-15

Therefore whoever covers his sins will not prosper but whoever confesses and forsakes them will receive mercy. Proverbs 28:13 1 John 1:7-10

For God opposes the proud and gives grace to the humble. James 4:6 1 Peter 5:5-7 Luke 18:9-14 Luke 14:7-11

Through the blood of Christ. 1 John 1:5-10

It reminds me the sermon of pastor charles spurgeon, '...there never was a man despised as God has been.' and also the attitude of israelites in the desert for forty years.
it is a blessing that this is remembered.. the last post is like the one you reply to mine. isnt it?
