Simply put is it ever ok to ever feel let down from God?
When the weight of the world seems like it's on your shoulder and everyone that you come in contact are never satisfied and you feel like screaming at each and everyone of them...
Is it ok to feel like God wasn't there even though he was?
Is ok to wonder his motives?
I so badly don't want to feel this but so much has happened these last couple weeks.

I know how you feel. I can even relate to the Psalmist in Psalms 35, 40, and 70. But Jesus told me this.
Matthew 5:11Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 12Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
Matthew 5:43Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. 46For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? 47And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? 48Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
John 15:17These things I command you, that ye love one another. 18If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. 19If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
I'm still needing His help to be exceedingly glad in my persecution, but as He lifts my sights higher above the winds of the storm to the promise of a great reward in Heaven: (I cannot imagine what it could be) I can find strength and joy to continue as He strengthens me.
Philippians 3: 9And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: 10That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
2 Corinthians 1: 3Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 4Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. 5For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.
6And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. 7And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.
8For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: 9But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: 10Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;
1 Peter 4:12Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 13But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. 14If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
15But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. 16Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. 17For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? 18And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? 19Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
1 Peter 5:1The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: 2Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; 3Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock.
It is by His grace, go I. We shall rejoice in our persecution, soon enough.![]()
Sweetrainbow, I feel you. I get that way sometimes.
I'm no where near perfect, I have to remind myself that it is not God who lets me down, but the world. Wants, desires, hopes and dreams often involve our wants in the world. When those things let us down, we (me?) feel like it is God who failed, rather than the world. We are told that the world will fail us, but God remains constant.
Peace to you, sister.
Of course it is OK Sweetrainbow.
God knows all our thoughts and feelings anyway. He wants us to be honest with Him and come to Him with arms outstretched in times of need.
The psalms are always testimony to all the emotions that Christians (and King David who wrote them) can experience as par for the course.
Christians who say they have never felt frustrated or let down are not being honest with themselves in my opinion; OR they have not grown spiritually enough to pass through the hard times with God by their side.
Jesus has felt every emotion we feel. (In the garden of Gethesmene for example........)Isn't that amazing and a great comfort to know!![]()

Psalm 16:5-7
Friends are like stars ~ even when you can't see them they are still there.
Is it normal to feel this way? Of course, you're human. Just like David in the Psalms, or Elijah after the success on Mt Carmel, or Joshua after the defeat at Ai, to name 3 examples of men of God who felt this way. The Scriptures are brutally honest about the way we sometimes feel.
And dare I say it, even Christ on the Cross felt abandoned by God - "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?", perhaps the most poignant verse in the whole of Scripture.
But having acknowledged honestly the way you feel, there are ways that you can help yourself. Not by denying the feelings, nor by beating yourself up because of them, but by bringing them honestly to God, and allowing him to change you. And there are plenty of Scriptures to help. The Psalms are good, and also Isaiah 40. Phillipians 4:6-7 has also come to mind.
We often make the mistake of thinking the way out is for the source of the frustration to change. Sometimes God graciously does that for us, but I've found more and more that he allows whatever (or whoever) it is to remain, yet gives us the strength in Christ to deal with it. But the strength is his, working in us, not ours - to his glory.
Pineapple said about how the world let's us down, which I truly believe.
But sometimes I now know it's not the world that let's me down it's my family and myself who lets me down.
I let family members take advantage of me and spoil them with that.
And I let myself down because I don't ever say NO to them because I fear in some strange way that I am disappointing God.
And the biggest thing is that every but myself and MOM are not Christians.
But I thank all of you for the wonderful thoughts that you have applied to this situation.
Anyone that can make me understand and cry did a job well done.
Everyone here are such a wonderful group and I thank God he led me here when he did.
This is better then any therapy session I ever.

Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me. ....................
I wanted to clear up his situation if anyone is under the impression that
I wish or don't want to care for Mom.
By all means, yes, I know that I'm doing my best for her but what I meant for family members letting me down I was talking about my brother and sister.
My sister takes care of my Dad (at least that's what she calls it) but I help with him also when I can and with the very important things like bills and chores he needs done when I can get there.
My brother is just plain LAZY pure and simple and was spoiled from Mom in the past.
She let him get used to be waited on hand and foot, instead of helping to learn to survive on his own.
When Mom needs all of us now (not just me) they took off and ran to the hills with their excuses and left me to take care of her.
Even though I've tried showing them some Christian values it has not phased them 1 bit.
Now I think I know why Mom now wants to give up while I write this post.
She can see plainly well that I'm the only one taking care of her and how hard it is.
Maybe, she just doesn't want to be a burden and give up instead.
Well I just wanted to clear this up and give better insight on this situation.

Sweetrainbow Although hard to watch a parent grow old and come to rely on you more, I'm sure you would have it no other way. You will have no regrets, although the road is a hard one at the moment. Believe me when I say that looking back you will know that you have 'done it as unto the Lord' Be assured that He knows and understands He will sustain you through it all.
Be blessed
